High Intensity Interval Training makes you younger and stronger

Many of the articles we read on bike training are of this type HIIT - High Intensity Interval Training.   Even Joel Javier frequently tells me this type of training as we ride.   As other bikers bike fast, strive not to get behind (that means you have to pedal harder when you are almost dead tired)  As you climb hills, pour out what you have in the 2nd half.

I found out that it is more effective to put your gears at say 53 x 14, bike slowly and even stand even for short distances.  I found out that I could stay with the leaders when the bike rides are long and tough.  Looks effective for me.
