Former neighbor, "kadaro" classmate, friend of wifey passed away yesterday

Wheels of Happiness

A former neighbor in Poblacion, a kadaro  (being a neighbor) elementary school classmate, and lately bff of wifey passed away yesterday, after battling the big C.    She got it according to experts for inhaling fumes for preparing soil for planting.  She was popular for dragon fruit growing, vinegar and wine.  Leading the way for preserving and finding out various uses for excess produce rather than wasting them away

She fostered organic farming although it was more expensive.  Her farm had constant DA visitors, and we understand she was a constant awardee.

Her farm is some 55 km away from our town, in the last town of the province

Thank you for company the wonderful years we spent together.   Vaya can dios

We will surely miss her company and a confrontation with reality that our batch is being harvested.   At 75 you are ripe for harvest...

Higher fuel surcharge will prevent me from travelling to Mindanao?

Wheels of Happiness

CAB has allowed level 17 in November  fuel surcharges due to higher fuel costs.  This is one of the highest.  As of now air fares seem unaffordable.  I could not go to Visayas prior to November 1.

I planned to visit a proposed future site in Mindanao.  Now I am not sure whether the plane fare is still affordable.

Visited a game fowl farm, and the owner and I shared commonality on 7 points

Wheels of Happiness

Yesterday, I went with my uncle to visit the gamefowl farm of a colleague.  My uncle loves to raise game cocks and his friends are mostly in this kind of avocation.

His friend is from Marikina with a farm in Eastern Rizal.

His farm is about 6 km from the municipal hall, and mostly going up. (Just like a parallel road up to Marilaque)   But I was shared that we had  __ points of rapport

1.  He knew my daughter from a wake at a MP which this daughter is in charge of;

2.  A cousin who is into bonsai culture;

3.  A deceased family friend who worked in Meralco and from the same place;

4.  A shoemaker who specialized in bike shoes Boy Pepsi (Naval)

5.  My brother who was the classmate of his sis;

6.  Most of all we used to work as drug reps -  he in cold preparation maker, me at Unilab and the drug he used was promoted by this when still at pharma -  a beta blocker...Of course we shared stories about
being a drug rep.  He covered Palawan,  I Cebu Bohol... The happy stories.

7.  A business colleague, Martin  T.  is the husband of a relative.   (I initially failed to recall Martin;s name.

A supreme example of rapport

What a coincidence.   What a rapport situation.   If we had a deal,

My uncle says he sells about 2,000 game cocks a year estimated value of P4,000 each.   He nets about P4M a year  Nice place.  Slow life, Fresh air.  He served us suman and coffee.   Nice place to age in

But initially my imprression for a busienss deal we  had in mind initially would not prosper because of steep elevation

Did 10 laps as Wawa today rather than road ride; feared roads and plenty of accidents being published.

Wheels of Happiness

This post changed biking routine.  Did laps at the new improved Wawa eco park.  Roads are now 4 lanes widened and newly paved...  Am avoiding the road rides but I will maybe tomorrow.   Air is cleaner here and less chance of meeting vehicular accident.

Will just climb hills occasionally.

Did a number of calisthenics:  push up, lunges, massages, to supplement the rides.    Met Nilo also ocassionaly he rides his bike.  Nilo was colleague in running.   He too had his eyes operated on.

Biked today at Mambog; rode with Weng up to Mambog, did 30+ kph maybe then had breakfast with Sec Noe at Mambog resto; gave me one egg

Wheels of Happiness

Rode again today up to Mambog, now my long ride destination 10 km away.  Fortunately I saw Weng Balubar, and he said he came from Taytay, his new residence.   He said the would join the Sorsogon ride (he is from there) by the end of the month:    Halloween up to All Saints day.  How I wish I could still joiin their ride.

Tried to cope up with Weng who rode a road bike...May be 30 to 32 kph.   I even led up at times.  Then gave up on the last climb to Mambog....

Sweat up quite a bit with Weng.  Then found out Sec Noe was as usual doing his Sunday ride and having breakfast at Mambog.  I joined him The resto ran out of eggs.  Since Sec Noe had two eggs for his lugaw, he gave me one of his eggs.

Accident at Tikling yesterday near fibertex - a 10 wheeler truck carrying sand blew out its tires, hit 3 vehicles injuring several individuals saw at bike ride

Wheels of Happiness

This post went up Tikling yesterday, up to Antipolo and saw a heavy traffic jamp beginning at Seminary and up to Fibertex.  I saw a truck on its side and several destroyed vehicle which it  crashed into:    two jeeps, a car, and at least one MTB rider who said sand spilled into him hurt him at his side and blew out his tires.

From Antipolo, the traffic was up to Beverly.

Many were injured albeit none fatally.  Except the car driver who was trapped....The rescuers had no bolt cutter, nor angle grindeer to cut off the frame that was pinning the driver.   How is he?

They said the cause of the mayhem was tires of the ten wheeler blowing up

Really we have to ride safe... Too many vehicular accidents lately
