This post joins the whole Christendom in mourning the loss of its head Pope Francis at age 88. May His Holiness soul rest in peace.
A senior thinks, rides, solves problems, repairs bikes, thinks discusses about other sports. What senior should do to keep fit

Two sudden deaths in cycling
Wheels of Happiness
One was at Antipolo Cathedral ER, and other one was yesterday, Abeth Ocampo. Both of an apparent heart attack.
Rest in Peace, God with God. Bike forever free.

Recyclists attendance at Simples Lugawan is high; all are active and riding.; Ride, GO GO GO
Wheels of Happiness
Some younger cyclists have remarked that Recyclists are gone and disbanded. No group lasts forever. I said maybe because about 3 have died: Papa Rick, Ed 7 days, and lately Bigote Machete.
Also many did not ride because of the pandemic prohibitions. May be not this time
But maybe some of the leaders are not showing up and the only long ride that was achieved was the reverse the Laguna ride where I suffered. Maybe because I lacked the training. Not this time.
I should follow the examples of Insan Smith Unidad whose mileage and destinations are unbelievable.
This is wake up call for other Recyclists who do not ride so often, nor do not join the group ride.
Recyclists GO GO GO GO

Jojo Fuentes, katambay na MTB sa Wawa, died last Monday
Wheels of Happiness
Rizal Philippines
September 5, 2017
I learned yesterday from Vhen Apran, Alfred when I biked to Wawa, that Jojo Fuentes, our katambay at Wawa (an MTB rider died last Monday in their house at E. Rodriguez of probably hbp.
Jojo Fuentes who ran for mayor was a very colorful person who had various outlandish theories on many things like solar energy, the Caspian sea, Queen Elizabeth supporting him and the river rehab at Angono. He would have garnered many more votes than the 700+ he got last election for mayoralty position had he not spoken nor attended the debate sponsored by the Parish Council. We may say he had challenges in his thinking but we never told him that. We enjoyed his talks
His body lies in wake at their house. We will surely miss him

Why do some bikers still die of heart disease or have large tummies?
Real Cyclists
Angono Rizal, PHL September 8, 2013
VM and Nanding
While waiting for other bikers, VM discussed with me a conversation with a triathlete who makes bike jersey. He saw his sample and found it to be wanting. Then they went into a conversation why do some triathletes/bikers still die of lifestyle diseases.
Well he said, maybe their lifestyle did not change. After a bike ride, they have socials they drink liquor and partake of fatty foods. If you must be healthy, biking alone will not make you healthy and fit. You have to include nutrition and change of lifestyle. If you dont, then you will not be very healthy.
About this topic, a traveler had a conversation at lunchtime in resto in Famy where we had lunch. He inquired where we were from and my age. I said I am 62. And he said, how come you have very flat tummy?
Why do I have flat tummy- I do sit ups while watching TV (many times) I try to count how many push ups I can do in 10 seconds (3x to 5x) And I eat only 1 cup of rice at lunch, and avoid a full meal at night.
