Minimum passing distance for safety in US
There are legislation/law that prescribes distance between a motor vehicle and a bicycle when overtaking. The minimum is 3 feet up to 6 feet at higher speed.
We are always trying to insist on ourselves that this distance must be observed. But the local drivers, MC and 4 wheeled vehicles dont. And if you call their attention, they would always argue that were you injured by the close encounter? Was there a damage? Was there an accident? O what the heck?
We also know that bicycles are entitled to a lane just like a motor vehicle.
I could swear that because of superior approaching narisstic level, many MC and MV drivers would buzz you by nearly 3 inches minimum
