Hey hey the Recyclists Gang together again at Simples Lugawan

Wheels of Happiness

Rizal Philippines
January 20, 2018

Jericho, Me, Aries, Joel, Master, Bok and Pres Luis

Many of us Recyclists biked today, but many were on light rides;  only me decided to go to Jalajala to complete my target ride distance today (I made only 47 one way or 94) still short but nearly a century ride.   I did it on a light Fuji carbon.  The effort was lesser and the km come whizzing by... faster

Finally I biked again yesterday December 14, 2015

Wheels of Happiness

Rizal Philippines   |  December 15, 2014

I was able to bike yesterday finally.  However I started out very late at 8:00 am because of previous 2 days conference in Calamba City. (I started out early about 7:40 Saturday evening from Calamba but I arrived at the house 11:15 because it was difficult to get a ride home -  it was Christmas shopping time and it even rained)

I arrived at Morong at about 9:00 am and there were no bikers in sight;  I had the usual lugaw with egg and the food server had all her eyes on me..

Our real ride that was cancelled by rain

Wheels of Happiness

Rizal Philippines

We had a scheduled ride to Real yesterday.  But it was still raining until 4 am.  I texted Pres Luis and he said the ride was cancelled.  It stopped raining past 5 and then I rode out;  whatever ride will do.

I Tagpos I saw Gerry  and he stopped me.  He asked where were the rest.  And so we decided to continue riding up to Pisong Kape. We were there by 7 which was a pretty fast clip. He said we averaged 25 kph with top speed of of 33 kph.  By 730 I  informed by text Pres Luis that we were there at Pisong Kape, the rain having stopped.  He said "malapit na kami"  And soon enough came:  Chito, Weng, and Ed (idol)

We had great snacks at Manay's yesterday.

Wheels of Happiness

Rizal Philippines | June 30, 2014

We had great ride and chow yesterday at Manay's.  The Pancit and the cold drinks were great.  We must have spent about P700.00 only for the great food.  And the June celebrants footed the bill.

Happy birthday,  VM, Pres Luis and Jorgeusbiker.

Marauder in MLQuezon Ave in Mahabang Parang, the new but distant bikeshop in town

Wheels of Happinesse

Antipolo City, Philippines |   April 27, 2014

It is besides 711 and a massage shop

After seeing off Engr June fetched by his son (he could not bike anymore up to Teresa because of cramps,) we climbed Teresa of course and rested at China Bank.  After a hard climb, Joel pala and Master rest and just sit at that spot in front of China bank.  We decided to go to the new bike shop which he said is owned by an American, about  one km from Lores.

Relaxing in front of China bank

And so we went there.  We had to make some inquiries and the car wash boys said that it is near 711 and past Crown Asia.  So two hills after we were there:

Nice to see you again Sec Noe

Wheels of Happiness

Rizal, Philippines   |  January 26 2014

Secx Noe also so happy to see us!

It is so nice to see Sec Noe at Morong.  I am glad that people are rejoining us and enjoy with us the medicine for long life and good health.  Well Secx Noe rides my old Fuji bike.  So his bike reminds me of a nice bike of yore.

I hope he stays with us every week end.

Our ride next week will be at Lucban.  That will on Feb 2 2014.  I will be in Iloilo because of a teaching assignment.  So sorry to miss this ride.

Several challenges during the ride to Tagaytay today, January 19 2014

Wheels of Happiness

Angono, Rizal Philippines   | January 19, 2014

Edgar crashed while avoiding an MTB at Amadeo highway

Several challenges (difficulties were with us today) on a our ride to and from Tagaytay.  They were minor though:

1. a  Ados chain broke on the way up through the Amadeo highway.  Fortunately, he knows how to repair the link.  However, he and VM did not have the chain remover/tool.   I had.  So solved.  He connected the chain anew at the Petron station in  Tagaytay

b.  He had a flat tire in Daang Hari, and we had to supervise him and eat while he was repairing his flat.

2.  Edgar crashed while avoiding a HS MTB, he suddenly crossed his path on the way down Amadeo highway.  Fortunately it was minor scratch on his shoulder, legs and just bruised ego.

My bike ride today November 17, 2013

Wheels of Fun

Angono, Rizal Philippines   | November 17, 2013

Luis collecting the biodata for ID, Jeff, Chito and Joel

I left a little bit late today.  I started out at 6:40, was in the Sacred Heart church by 6:50.  I was in Morong by 7:40.  I had the usual lugaw with egg and butchi.  Then the group left by 8:10 and we were in Pisong Kape by 8:30.  They were fast.  I went ahead but the peloton kept up with me at km 55.    But this time I could see their back especially that of Gerry Cataps.

They stopped at Pisong Kape but went on till Bugarin.  Bubuy and Ariel  caught up with me at km 65 (near OL) but I kept pace with them until km 68.  I was there at the Bugarin by 9:15.  I ate Buko at Lolas (it is 12 pesos now) and went down by 9:30.  I was in Morong by 10:00 am and at Binangonan by 10:50.   And home by 11:15.  It was hot and dry today.

How are you JJ lately; how come you now conk out on hard rides? He said Tsalap tsalap

Real Cyclists

Joel, Engr. June and Abet (nice to see you again Engr June)

People have been inquiring how come JJ has not been up to par lately.  He said his wife is around (she was abroad for a while)   All he could say is "Tsalap tsalap"  and we said that is a lot of "K..." Hahaha

Why is Joel J not his usual self; why does he get tired easily?

Real Cyclists

Is his wife's arrival the cause?  What do you think?

Angono, Rizal PHL   |  September 8, 2013

Joel was observed to be slowing down and being left behind by the "Halimaws" and the "demonyos"  At the Bosoboso ride, many were observing this to happenning to JJ.

Today, he begged off the Luisiana ride and broke off at Bugarin.

As usual there are speculations as to what is happening with JJ:

1.  His wife just arrived and he and she must be enjoying their sweet time;

2.  He nows work with ROPALI?

3.  His union is affiliated with PALIA?

If his wife leaves, he will be ok.  But many say his wife is not renewing contract abroad?  Is Joel becoming weaker?

Hahaha.  Dont be mad JJ.

Joel and Armin kidded me I broke the speed limit

Real Cyclists

Rizal   PHL  March 28, 2013

Joel and Armin kidded me at the Pisong Kape that I broke the speed limit rule for this ride imposed by the Pres of 20-22 kmh.  I remember, I tried to race ahead of everybody at Callahan, but was left by the group when we reached Morong because of the trip.  I tried to catch up from km 49 to km 50.  I finally caught up with them at km 52 (the hill between Baras and Tanay).   I was able to keep in touch with the group, caught up with lead of Armin near km 55, stuck up with him and even sped up.  Joel said it precipitated everybody to speed up. Armin said, I did 30+ kph  a clear violation  Thus I was the culprit.

Would you believe a senior starting  race hahaha!
