I conversed with Gerry Cataps yesterday and asked him about their Real Ride. Only 5 made it to Real: he, Jeff, Alan, Pres Luis, and Chito F. They said they left Luis behind who was came 30 minutes later. They were in Real by 11:00 am. and back Sunday at Pisong Kape by 9:00 am.
Gerry had told me something interesting. They did not spend for an accommodation. It would have cost them P1,000 a night. Besides, being a holiday, the lodging were full.!!!! He befriended a barangay official, a lady who happened to be a kababayan (from Bacolod and Gen San) The lady let them spend the night at the barangay hall. They spent only for their food drinks (plenty of it) They were allowed to take a bath and launder their clothes. They were given tables to drink on, even parilla for sinugba (they bought fish) from fish market and fishermen (just like in San Felipe)
A senior thinks, rides, solves problems, repairs bikes, thinks discusses about other sports. What senior should do to keep fit

Unable to join the Real Ride
Wheels of Happiness
Rizal Philippines
April 11, 2016
I would like to apologize to Pres. Luis for breaking my word in joining the Real Quezon ride. I had vertigo the night before, unable to stand up straight when I woke up April 9, 2016. The extreme heat and eating popcorn probably laced with MSG probably made me dizzy and had vertigo. The other alibi could be the biking hard last Thursday 3 loops at Cardona diversion
It was also the 65th birthday of my wife. Was she happy that I joined her at UP Town Center, Crisostomos for her birthday celebration with her relatives.
I missed though the 4th grand reunion of former Maunlad Active bank employees/alumni

Our real ride that was cancelled by rain
Wheels of Happiness
Rizal Philippines
We had a scheduled ride to Real yesterday. But it was still raining until 4 am. I texted Pres Luis and he said the ride was cancelled. It stopped raining past 5 and then I rode out; whatever ride will do.
I Tagpos I saw Gerry and he stopped me. He asked where were the rest. And so we decided to continue riding up to Pisong Kape. We were there by 7 which was a pretty fast clip. He said we averaged 25 kph with top speed of of 33 kph. By 730 I informed by text Pres Luis that we were there at Pisong Kape, the rain having stopped. He said "malapit na kami" And soon enough came: Chito, Weng, and Ed (idol)

Riding Home from Real on April 9
The Recyclists in front of the Baywatch, after Peter said the prayer seeking safe trip going home
I had planned to ride the bus going home so that I could catch with the birthday celebration of my wife who would be celebrating her 61st birthday in a hotel lunch buffet. However, at 5 am there was no bus. So I had no choice except to ride. My time limit was to be in Angono by l030. (I arrived 11 am not bad)
Jeffrey leads the peloton, that is masters butt at the derriere; Jorgeus biker could have been here were it not for his picture taking, documentation chores.
Gerry, Kuya Boy, Netoy and Master
Richard, Jemrex, and VM
Engr. June and Peter; look at Peter's tongue.
Papa Ric, Netoy and Master
Papa Ric and Kuya Boy
Gerry and Archie
That is 7 days; he ably did his job as collection agent
Jorgeusbiker trying to catch up, at the end of the pack
Allan now ahead
I was behind the group because of picture taking of the route.
However, I had to catch up because of my original plan. I caught up with Papa Ric and 7 days at km l07. I caught up with Netoy at km 90. I was flying until Famy. And there was no bus yet. We were there at 8:00 am
After Famy, I rode side by side with Nolite and Tito up to Bugarin. Nolite and Tito left me and then Jemrex, Angel, passed me by. We took BJ with Richard, Luis, Gerry near the large Ficus (Balete ) km 70.
They rested at Pisong Kape and I had to ride ahead. Kuya Boy and Tito rode with me.
Kuya Boy's knee were in pain.
Fortunately for me, we were in Morong by l0 am and shortly before ll, we were in Angono.
My daughter was waiting for me to drive me to her mother's celebration in the hotel for the lunch buffet.
We arrived at the hotel at l2:30; I arrived on time
With my wife celebrating her first year after turning senior
I was able to fulfill my duty as biker, host group and be with my family for an important occasion.
Thanks be to God.
N.B. We ate a buffet at the Jeepney bar of IH. Their food was the healthy type. It cost only mere PHP 600.00 per head (from Deal Grocer) Their head there is a tokayo, George Romero, with same birthday as George Washington - Feb. 22. Thanks tokayo

The Guys Are Flying on the Ride to Jalajala
Bike and Save the Earth
It was Palm Sunday today, April 1, 2012. I started out at 6:20 and met the guys at the boundary of Darangan and Calumpang; Master Edwin had a flat tire. As usual, our service center guy Joel was busy helping master.
Then we continued biking: some passed via the Cardona diversion, others were in the town. I chose the Cardona dieversion and my 39 chain ring made me struggle. However, I was not very much behind perhaps 1 minute max.
Then we had breakfast at Simples Lugaw that was about 7:20. Joel and Master were delayed. At 8:00 we started out again for Jalajala. It was however up to the cemetery because we were all ready delayed. We were at Pisong Kape by 8:30; and thereafter left Pisong Kape for Jalajala by 9:00 am.
Lo and behold we were at Jalajala (near the cemetery) by 9:30. The guys were flying. I was doing 35 and 37 and could not catch them. (Well no excuses; I did not have any road works this week, and only one stationary)
We drank softdrinks (coke and sprite, which we should be avoiding because it puts CO2 bubbles in the blood, plus phosphoric acid and HFCS) and ate watermelon (including the seeds and the rind) for anti ED problems (that is the natural Vit V!!!)
We had a brief meeting on the Visita Iglesia, on Thursday and the Real Ride on April 8, 2012. What are the duties of the team leaders.
At l0:00 we rode back to Pililla: I was with the group until Malaya and then they pulled away. But not more than 200 meters. I have to improve my speed and endurance as I get tired.
The guys are flying: they must be doing 40kph on the average: Smith, VM, Tito, Armin
The speed at which we rode was surprising because we were at Angono, despite all the delays and the stops by l2:l5. My wife was surprised; she thought we only came from Morong.
Who rode with us?
As far as I remember: Tommy, Guava, Master Edwin, Papa Ric, Smith, Luis, VM, Edgar (7days), Tito, Joel, Luis, Allan, Gerry Cataps, Weng, Jorgeus biker, Armin, Archie. It was a pretty large bunch. Plus on the way to Jalajala, we were joined by 3 young Binangonan Cycling Club riders.
