Vhen Apran relayed to me the information that during the Christmas party which I was not able to attend (di ko nalaman,, no one informed me. Nasa facebook daw, I missed that post surely) that we shall have a bike ride to Baguio. It was initiated by Engr. June Francisco daw and he volunteered to have his place in Urdaneta as a stop over point. VM daw will provide SWAG vehicle. That is very comforting.
Time to have increased mileage, at least 100 km on a long weekend. Last Saturday, I did 80 km. This morning I did Antipolo. Mga 30 km lang yon pero ascending.
I noticed increased strength in myself all ready. Because I was able to climb that 39 x 23 (medyo hard yon) And going back I managed the Manila East Hill up to Tower Hills at 53 x 23 without huffing and puffing I am and bike in oneness. Getting ready again Baguio climb.
Vhen told me last night, he would join this one . He and I are both 65 and in the years to come, we may not be able to accomplish this. I was able to talk to Master E today too. We three will be team mates for this ride. We will not be at peloton but we will finish the ride
A senior thinks, rides, solves problems, repairs bikes, thinks discusses about other sports. What senior should do to keep fit

Marauder in MLQuezon Ave in Mahabang Parang, the new but distant bikeshop in town
Wheels of Happinesse
Antipolo City, Philippines | April 27, 2014
It is besides 711 and a massage shop
After seeing off Engr June fetched by his son (he could not bike anymore up to Teresa because of cramps,) we climbed Teresa of course and rested at China Bank. After a hard climb, Joel pala and Master rest and just sit at that spot in front of China bank. We decided to go to the new bike shop which he said is owned by an American, about one km from Lores.
Relaxing in front of China bank
And so we went there. We had to make some inquiries and the car wash boys said that it is near 711 and past Crown Asia. So two hills after we were there:

Wheels of Fun

Luis collecting the biodata for ID, Jeff, Chito and Joel
I left a little bit late today. I started out at 6:40, was in the Sacred Heart church by 6:50. I was in Morong by 7:40. I had the usual lugaw with egg and butchi. Then the group left by 8:10 and we were in Pisong Kape by 8:30. They were fast. I went ahead but the peloton kept up with me at km 55. But this time I could see their back especially that of Gerry Cataps.
They stopped at Pisong Kape but went on till Bugarin. Bubuy and Ariel caught up with me at km 65 (near OL) but I kept pace with them until km 68. I was there at the Bugarin by 9:15. I ate Buko at Lolas (it is 12 pesos now) and went down by 9:30. I was in Morong by 10:00 am and at Binangonan by 10:50. And home by 11:15. It was hot and dry today.

Can you beat the Master E and Jorgeusbiker tandem at the back?
Real Cyclists
Angono, Rizal PHL September 8, 2013
Eddie Pama likes to stay in front because he practices a lot; Master E and I stay at the back to street sweep. We are no match to the heavy legged giants who bike at 40 kmh and more. We bike for fresh air and some sweat.
But Master E and I do some interesting drafting and change of pacelines. He leads for about 500 meters and looks back, that is a signal for me to change his place. After I do my job, I signal with hand for him to replace me. We did this several times: going to Cavinti at km 58 to 59. That is why we were able to stay close to the peloton; then from Paete to Famy and from Tanay to Morong.

Master E had mechanical troubles yesterday/injuries yesterday March 10 2013
Real Cyclists
Angono, Rizal PHL | March 11, 2013
I dropped by Gerry Cataps watch repair stand which is near our office where I learned that Master E and they rode to Teresa. Unfortunately Master E had a mechanical failure: his spokes at the rear broke, went the derailleur space and the rest of the rear wheel, caused him to stop suddenly and he fell. His derailleur and bike were broken so were his shoes, and he had injuries at the knee.
We just have to be careful and check our bikes often; my bike sprocket yesterday was loose, fortunately for me I was able to get home without trouble.
I hope he recuperates from his injuries and get back his bike functioning again.
All that it needed was reinstallation and an additional quarter turn.
Gerry complained that they were not informed to the Manay ride. They are non FB users and they should have been texted.

Master E bothered by colds and cough after Tagaytay ride; air pollution the culprit?
Real Cyclists
Morong, Rizal, PHL | March 3, 2013
Master E before his disciples: Armin, Gerry, Tito and Papa Ric
Master E told me that he had cough and cold after the Tagaytay ride. I too had lot of phlegm and felt sore after the ride. I attributed the soreness to the furious riding pace.
But wait, has air pollution something to do with this? I remember I quit long distance running in MM because of growing air pollution/deteriorating air quality. Instead of getting stronger, I felt more lethargic after running in MM streeets; especially along Roxas Blvd.
I must have posted a hundred pictures of study of air pollution in MM. So far I think no one noticed/notices them. How many must have COPD or lung cancer before any one acts?
Large moon shines still at 6:28, but you cant see Sucat and Alabang at other side of the lake
The sun shines but pollution still hangs low over MM
Right near the lake, the air is hazy (polluted)
Can you discern Taytay, Pasig and Taguig
Is it a clear day? Yes but the sky over MM is not...
Can you discern the pollution over Makati
At dusk, the air pollution cleared a bit
