Real Cyclists
His relative asked me to take photo of Gerry's new hair style. This could be the Recyclists new hair style... Gerry has devised shoes, axle wheels, water bottle with his new unique design branded Cataps.
Now is this the signature Cataps hairdo?
Who will follow suit? Will he have followers?

Our Calauag ride would be one year old by Thursday
Biking and health
I texted Christmas greetings to Gerry Cataps and he reminded me of our ride one year ago to Calauag Quezon. How fast time flies. It was a two day adventure. And our night at Atimonan by pass was a frightening experience.
Our ride then is on the featured slider post at Picasa album

Our bike ride today, October 28, 2012
Biking and health
Gerry planned a Tagaytay bike ride for today. He, Angel, and I; however when I informed the daughter of Angel, she told me his father is in Palawan. So the Tagaytay ride has to wait.
So I rode today alone, and saw Ben wagging his tongue, later joined by Archie up to Km 27. I experienced a low pressure rear tire and inflated it; and Luis came. So up to Callahan and Morong. As usual we had lugaw at Morong. The rest of the guys decided to go to Pisong Cafe; Chito, Tommy and I decided to go to Teresa.
I was good that Tommy was with us. Right before the last slope, I broke my chain and Tommy was kind enough to join them back.
We went to Antipolo church; saw a mass end and start. It was an exhibition of St. Pedro Calungsod and there was a beeline to view the image of St. Pedro Calungsod.
Tommy and I rode together to Richard's house; however, Richard just left.

Gerry Cataps, ang "Nangaliwa" is now OK
Bike and Save the Earth
Gerry Cataps, our fellow recyclist who met accident last Maundy Thursday because he had to swerve left downhill in Cardona (nangaliwa ) is now OK. His bike is Ok now, it has a new fork that came from Angel (that came from Val) He bought a new interior.
The swelling on his face and lips are gone.
He said he will join the real ride tomorrow.
Thanks God. He is Ok. We ride safely tomorrow.

Bike Ride to Calauag Tomorrow December 28, 2011
Bike and Save the Earth
Tomorrow, we (Gerry, Angel, and I) will do a trial bike ride to Southern Luzon. We will bike to Calauag Quezon,(boundary of Quezon and Camarines Norte some 220 km from Angono, Rizal. The first day, stage l will be from Angono to Atimonan, some l50 km.
We will have 5 pit stops: Pililla, Paete or Pagsanjan, Luisina, Tayabas, and Lucena - a distance of 30 km each. Maybe we can be there in 6 hours. The following day, we ride to Calauag some 70 km away. Gerry's brother lives at km 259. We ride the bus on the way back. By noon time.
We fell short of another 250 km to Sorsogon (another 2 days ride). Next time.
Anyone wants to join us?

Many Bike Addicts Rode Today, December 4, 2011 Despite the Rain
Bikers are jorgeus and have more fun....
It was dark when I left at 630 am. When I reached Tayuman, Binangonan Rizal, it started to have a light drizzle. When I reached Cardona some areas were dry. But by the time I was in Morong, it was raining. But despite that many bike riders souls braved the rain. As a matter of fact, on the way back at about 830 am. we met a pack of about 50 complete with Team Vehicle, wearing black, white and blue jersey in Binangonan, Rizal. Because it was raining hard by that time, we shouted, " Addict". Hehehe. as if were not addicts....
Here are some pictures of today's ride, December 4, 2011:
Men in Red; the Red Riders: Amigo, Joel, Tito, Luis, and Armin
Out of courtesy, they allowed a blue man: Jorgeusbiker; wet roads at the background
Other Red men: Netoy and son; that is Gerry at back of Netoy
Dapat WaCKy shot yon.!??
Red Riders Beautiful backs
They did not sleep well last night, this is time to sleep
Weng, Angel's brother, a bike champ at BCC
Armin Z, strong rider, at Cardona near Carlos Maternity
Tito F, from Cardona, prior to LLDA hillclimb
Jorgeus biker, napasabak sa ulan with Tito F
Rain, rain everywhere!
Roads are wet and slippery, dangerous; do you see the white horse sculpture with large dick?
Dangerous curves
I had to take shelter near Grandspan, was all wet and glasses clouded
My GTS bike shivering?

Hey, Gerry and Smith Tells me I am Improving!?
Have bike, we will help save the earth...
I am just wondering whether these two guys want me to make me feel good to motivate me. We have a member who does not want to join the rides anymore because the Recyclists average now is 45. (45 kph ridespeed or age). But the guys are now stronger and faster. I thought that I am being better because I can ride at 35 kph now or keep up with Joel for a short time at 45 kph. They ride the hills at nearly 20 kph. My average for the hills is l4 kph (that is up from 8-10 kph).
But Smith (Rommel) told the group, after our Bugarin hill climb that I now ride hills faster and stronger.
As for Gerry Cataps, I towed him from Tayuman to Morong. We overtook three groups: Tamad riders, BCC, and some friends from Cainta with lady riders. I beat him at Namay hill.
Maybe he not yet up to his old self after the Luisiana problem. He stopped near the Mango trees on the way up to Bugarin.
That is great. But I lack road rides during the week; it is mostly stationary trainer. Stationary trainers work?
Am I really improving still, at 60%

Round Laguna Lake Ride Today, Oct 23, 2011
Have bike, we will help save the earth...
We did a round Laguna ride today almost 200 km with Gerry (Cataps Angel and me) Although we started late and had a breakdown, we still were able to arrive at 5 pm.
We decided we will go at 7:40 and we were at Bugarin at 8 45 am; at Mabitac by 9:l5 and Pakil by 9:45. We had pansit, softdrinks and buns at Manay pansitan we met some Valle verde bikers with top of the line bikes. I remember PJ and John. And I gave my blog address. We were at Pagsanjan by ll and were at Pakil by ll:30 we had buko there and my bike wheels would not rotate because I broke a spoke. It was a bad wobble and I had to find a bike repair guy who charged me P50.00 for the job (mahal he did not give me a spoke) but I could bike up to speed (only 25 kph jeje) We left Pila by l2:l5 and were at Los Banos by l:00 where he had a P49.00 lunch at Inasal. Inasal lunch. That is great. We left at l:30 pm.
We were at Sta Rosa by 3 00 pm, 330 at San Pedro and at C6 by 4:l5 and Taytay by 4:45. We admired ourselves while we emptied bladder for having gone around that big wide Laguna lake. at such a relaxed pace and having done it on time. I arrived at Angono at 530. I could have still gone to mass. But I was bone tired for this effort.
Just to think that I arrived at l0 pm last night from Iloilo. Wow Was I tough?! At 60?
Are we the LAke RIDERS?

Gerry Cataps Has not Seen My Blogs?
Have bike, we will help save the earth...
Last Wednesday, I learned that Gerry Cataps, one of the Gaymen, Real Men, the guy whom I have ridden in most of the hard bike rides has not seen 95% of the blog. And so I volunteered to show him at my office on my laptop the blog posts for this site. And he was quite happy and surprised that we have so many and so nice blog entries.
I suppose our other bikemates and other Recyclists_2010 have not seen the blog also. I will bring plenty of calling cards on Sunday to distribute?
