How does biking affect the local economy?  I think it affects the places that bikers visit.  When it is not a biking day, the places we visit are dead - very little business.

At Pisong Kape, we would have probably ordered before 7 am yesterday about P1,000.00 plus in terms of softdrinks, lugaw and sports drink, and banana.  At an average of P40.00 per, we would have bought P1,200 worth of food.  At the buko store, the 31 or so cyclists buying P20.00 each would have bought P600.00 worth.  That could have provided enough income for the  family for the day.

Taking of photos took much of my time and distracted me from joining the fast paced cycling which sometimes reached speeds of up to 40+ per hour.  It was a solid peloton and I was the only one left. And these were my alibis.

However, I learned that I they arrived at l2:00 exactly and was late by mere 2 minutes.   Angel fetched me and the site was nearly across the Max Fried Chicken in Calamba.  And I hesitated and I had to make a call to verify.

June 23 is the June birthday celebrants concelebration

According to FB accounts and posts, June 23 will be the day of concelebration of 4 Recyclists who will be one year older this month:   VM, Luis, Jayjay and Jorgeusbiker.   (Richard Ang would have joined)

This will be third time that the June celebrants will sponsor and event;  we had 2 previous events:   one in Los Banos, and the other one in Villa Zenaida in Mabitac last year.

The celebration will go back to Los Banos.  So that is about a l00+ km ride and then eat and drink and be merry and maybe at 3 pm  we ride the trucks and other VM's vehicles.

June l9 ride and Birthday Celebration at Los Banos, Laguna

It was raining hard last night until 4 am this morning.  I texted Luis whether we push through or not. He replied its rain or rain - tuloy. There were supposed to be 22  guys on this ride but only l5 showed up.  Those who were not there were Noe, Nolite, Joel, Ado, Diego, Engr. June, Amigo, and Smith.  (You guys missed the fun, the food and drinks.)  Surprisingly there was no rain along the route.

We went to the Sacred Heart Parish to pray (that was about 6 am ) all ready.  Then biked straight to Pisong Kape where we had lugaw.  The next pit stop was at Mabitac waiting shed.  Then raced to Paete and stopped in front of carved images store in Paete.  We raced with a mountain biker on the way.  We had eggs and banana..  Next stop was Pila where we had bj (buko juice).  We were finally at the swimming pool in Pansol, Los Banos by about l pm

It was interesting to note that some of the ms of the riders thought it was raining hard on the route. It did not rain except when we were in Caluan.

We welcome the new riders who joined us today:  Ben and Tito Fabay.  For the ride it was fast and furious from Morong to Pililla, Mabitac to Paete, from Pagsanjan to Pila Laguna.

We had great food:  sinigang, fish, tahong.  Then swimming in hot bath, drank some GSM, San Mig Light.  Alan and Gerry belted out great songs at the Karaoke.

We thank the support group: bunso,  bunso Ni Luis, Jerome, Chap, Malou, Jonar, Nida, Cheng, Mark, Jo Anne and all the guys who joined.

June 19 ride

Reminder:  My ride tayo sa Sunday to Los Banos.  Ligo, kain duon and ride sa van on the way home.  Its free for all,  Kita kita tayo 5 am jollibee unishoppe and we take off at 530.  See you there
