Wheels of Happiness

USA today: Blow by blow description
Congressman Manny Pacquiao, fighting his usual Manny Pacquiao game, beat the American Brandon Rios, winning the WBO international welterweight title perhaps paving the way for a superfight with Floyd Mayweather in 2014. The fight was staged in Venetian Casino in Macau
Pacquiao was cautious throghout the fight, after learning from his carelessness in the Marquez fight where he was KOed by a lucky counter punch in the 7th. He got scores of 120 - 108, 119 - 109, 118 - 110. The TV broad cast gave all the rounds to the Saranggani Congressman.
Pacquiao redeemed himself from two successive losses to Bradley and Marquez
I suggest that he retires while still on top.
Round by round description from USA Today:
Round 12: Hard left hook, right uppercut by Pac. He's
punishing Rios and making him look slow, which is is compared to the
Filipino. It's over. And if Pacquiao loses this time, well, it would be a
true travesty.
Round 11: Pac still as quick as he was
early on. Rios' face showing the wrath of Pacquiao. Blood streaming from
his left eye. Pac looking better than he has in years. Rios connects
with a right. Rios needs a KO, but he can't catch Pac to get one. We're
down to the final round. Shutout for Pac so far.
Round 10: Rios warned early on for a low blow.
Manny comes back with his combos. He's just wearing Rios out with an
onslaught every round. Every time Rios comes forward, Manny cuts him off
with a straight left. Again Rios has no answers. 10-0 for Pacquiao.
Round 9:
Pac comes right back with teh quick lefts, combo by Pac lands three of
about six shots. Manny looks like he's seeing the guy whose team made
fun of his trainer Freddie Roach. He's going after Rios. Manny left, and
Rios counters with a hard right. A closer round but still a Pacquiao
round.
Round 8: Manny going with straight lefts to the
body. Rios throws a hard jab, which is all he can muster and catch Pac
with. Pac being very careful not to get caught, and ends the round with
two hard rights. Pac 8-0. Rios needs a KO at this point.
Round 7:
Manny putting on an absolute clinic. Rios has no answers so far. Both
of his eyes are swelling up and his left eye is bleeding. Wicked combo
by Pacquiao. Rios connects with a hard right, one of the few punches
he's hitting tonight. Another combo by Pacquiao and Rios feels it. Pac
knows his advantage of quickness is his biggest weapon. 7-0 Pacman. Rios
cut over his left eye.
Round 6: Pacquiao starts with a
straight left. Rios finding that at 147, his power might not be
translating. None of Rios' punches seem to be landing flush. Pac picking
him apart with his lightining-quick left. Low blow by Rios goes
unwarned. Rios connects with a left hook just before the bell. But
that's about it. Pacquiao winning every round. At least Manny got
through the sixth round. He's looking very skillful.
Round 5:
Both fighters hold and hit behind the head. Pac connects with a hard
straight left. Pac is wearing Rios down greatly outworking his opponent.
Rios holds again. Rios getting hit at will. Another big round for
Pacquiao. He's up 5-0. Pacquiao greatly outworking Rios. Rios might have
to change his gameplan.
Round 4: More combos by Pac. Slips
a wild right by Rios, showing his great quickness advantage. Rios
connects with a right to the jaw. Ref warns Rios for hitting in the back
of the head. Nice straight left by Pacquiao. There's a big difference
in boxing skills showing here. Pacquiao punctuates the end of the round
with a left hook to the head. Another Pacquiao round.
Round 3:
Pacquiao precision punching, Rios misses with a wild right. Pac moving
deftly, with excellent footwork. Pac throwing left and right. Rios walks
him into the ropes, but Pac answers with his own combination. Rios ends
the round with a good body shot, but it's another round for Pacquiao.
Round 2:
Manny attacks the body. Rios returns the favor. He's getting more
aggressive as the round goes on. Pacquiao moving, slipping punches.
Manny throws uppercut. Manny throwing combos at will. Rios again returns
the favor with a right hook. Gret end to the round by Pacquiao.
Straight left gets through to end the round. Pacquiao 2-0.
Round 1:
Rios jabbing early. Pacquiao body shot. Rios jabbing only early on.
Pacquiao's speed making a difference early on. Pacquiao clearly the
aggressor, and moving around the ring as he usually does. Rios goes down
but it was ruled a slip. Rios holding Pacquiao and going to the body.
Hard left by Pacquiao. Easy round for Pacquiao.
Michael Buffer announcing the fighters. It's almost time! The referee is Genaro Rodriguez.
We're
about ready for the walkouts! Rios has a nine-pound advantage over
Pacquiao as they walk into the ring. He is seven years younger, and has
never been KO'd like Pacquiao has.
"Bam Bam" Rios:

I took the Antipolo route this morning. I left at quarter to 7 and was in Antipolo Church by 730. I took some pollution pictures along the way. I attended the mass. The priest said in his homily, in relation to the Tacloban and Bohol earthquake disaster, that Jesus Christ is bigger than any of the disaster and all our sorrows. We should keep that in mind.
I left at a little past 8 and biked to Morong. I met most of the Recyclists in Teresa town proper maybe doing 40 kph. They were in two groups. I was in Morong by 8:40. And met my lugaw an egg, costing P15.00. Then biked back to Angono via Cardona. Since I had no one with me, I took my own sweet time. i was home by 11:00.

Christ the King Celebration/Fiesta at Muzon today, November 24, 2013
Wheels of Happiness
Angono Rizal, PHL | November 24, 2013
I noticed as I started to bike to Antipolo before 7 am this morning that vehicles were advised not to proceed to Muzon and instead rerouted to Baytown. The reason, it is fiesta day in Muzon. Vehicles likewise going to Angono, from Taytay were rerouted to Villa Valera and Baytown for the same reason.
In Antipolo church, the seat of the Archdiocese, the celebration was even more pronounced. Most of the bikers finished the mass, so did I.

Wheels of Fun. It is more fun between the wheels
Angono, Rizal PHL | November 23, 2013
Several mountain and road bikers were seen near the site of Angono Pagoda this morning. When interviewed, they told they are from QC. I would not be able to invite them for breakfast there is none yet at this hour.
I told them to spray their bikes especially the bottom bracket and the axle, because the lake water will spoil their mechanicals. It told them to be careful.
Thanks guys for visiting the town fiesta. of Angono, Rizal

Luis collecting the biodata for ID, Jeff, Chito and Joel
I left a little bit late today. I started out at 6:40, was in the Sacred Heart church by 6:50. I was in Morong by 7:40. I had the usual lugaw with egg and butchi. Then the group left by 8:10 and we were in Pisong Kape by 8:30. They were fast. I went ahead but the peloton kept up with me at km 55. But this time I could see their back especially that of Gerry Cataps.
They stopped at Pisong Kape but went on till Bugarin. Bubuy and Ariel caught up with me at km 65 (near OL) but I kept pace with them until km 68. I was there at the Bugarin by 9:15. I ate Buko at Lolas (it is 12 pesos now) and went down by 9:30. I was in Morong by 10:00 am and at Binangonan by 10:50. And home by 11:15. It was hot and dry today.

Repairing my Spyder Helmet
Real Cyclists
Angono Rizal PHL 11/11/2013
The black parts to the rear right and left were the affected parts
Ever since I had an accident (I fell off the bike after its front wheel got caught in the drainage gratings in front of Starbucks in Shangri La Edsa) I paid close attention to my head gear. If I did not wear my helmet at that time, I would not be posting here. So I bought i Spyder head gear which set me back by several thousands.
However, for two months now, I am bothered by the two tears at the plastic attachment of the polyurethane part to the straps. The attachment enables you to tighten or loosen the strap.
Since I heard Cataps has done of many miracle work on expensive helmets using nothing more than plastic from used containers and Mighty Bond, I consulted him yesterday at Morong, Rizal at a pitstop. He enumerated to me the process. So we agreed, if my repair failed, he I would bring the helmet to him. So on the way back, I bought Mighty Bond which set me back by P48.00. (My helmet cost me P2,700) about 2 years ago.
Yesterday afternoon, I tried the repair, and judging from the pictures, I think I was successful.
