We did a tune up ride today for Baguio today. We rode up to Sierra Madre Hotel in Tanay along Marcos highway.
The ride was supposed to start at 5:30 am; assembly was in front of Iglesia Church in Angono. We actually left at 6:00. Those who came early were: Gerry, Luis, Jess, Archie, Armin, VM, Jeff, Allan, Ben. Those we left behind were Angel, Richard and Choco.
Absent: Engr June, 7 days, Amigo, Smith, Papa Ric, Secx
We met Master along the way. Joel was at Tikling.
Those who joined were: Jayjay, Jeff, Jess, VM, Luis, Archie, Armin, Master E, Joel, Richard, Choco, Angel, Gerry Allan, Ben and myself - Jorgeus Biker.
We were at Antipolo Church at 7:10 thereabouts, and finished the mass at 8:00. By that time, Richard, Choco and Angel have arrived. VM who checked his business in Antipolo also arrived. Richard asked Choco to purchase pan de sal for the hungry bikers.
By 8:00 we left for Boso boso. It was a fast pace because we arrive by 8:30 at Mang Vics bulalohan.
By 9:30 we were at Garden cottage. By l0 we left for Sierra Madre Hotel. We were sort of fast and early because we were at Sierra Madre by 11:00. Since we ate Buko at Sampaloc, we arrived at 12:30 in Tanay. We ate lunch there at Nings turoturo. We left by 1:00.
We rested at: Morong Cardona highway (we peed), then at waiting shed of URS Binangonan, and then Bukohan at Tayuman, Binangonan, Rizal.
We were at home by 2:15.
Now the question is which is harder: the Sierra Madre via Sampaloc or this route?
Some say this is harder. I say the reverse route is harder.
But whatever it is, this ride should prepare the guys for Baguio Kennon rd. ride. The km 48 to 51 (from Gov Itos manukan) to past the Bureau of Soils are long and steep climbs. It is just like climbing the Black Mt. and Lion's Head.
