Is it the bike or the rider?

Wheels of Happiness

At Pisong Kape yesterday VM Jun Vic was making kuwento of their Teresa ride last Saturday where he overtook 4 out of five Bianchi riders - (the one he couldn't was a Dr.)   But he was wondering was it because of the bike or because of him. He has a large tummy and slightly overweight

I disposed off my Bianchi because I think Pinarello is a better bike than Bianchi:  in terms of weight, geometry and being aero shape

He had Pinarello F10 with Campy 12 groupset. I would say it is because of the bike. I was on F10 last Sunday. Having gone first from Morong, nobody was near me up to Pisong Kape and even managed to get past by RB and MTB who were much much ahead. I was only at 36 x 11.

On the way back, I got off slightly ahead at Biak na Bato and they caught up with me only at Maybancal Titing Kabayo for the buko juice drink.

At Cardona  up at Callahan I was with the leader.   With VM, Pres Luis, Netoy and Jess.   That was not so bad.   The F10 is a good bike for flats and hill climbs.

I am glad I have one.   No  wonder it is the world's top selling expensive bike.  Wala ka nang hahanapin pa
(Kaya wala na akong motivation for a new bike project or upgrade)

My bike ride today to Antipolo December 24, 2015

Image result for antipolo church

It is a day before Christmas.  Merry Christmas tomorrow.

Today I rode up to Antipolo City and rode my SARS roadie.  What a big difference between the MTB and the road bike.  It was faster, lighter, albeit harsh on the butt.  But I rode up Antipolo faster and downhill faster.  The two bikes have their specific purposes and function.

There, in the mass (I finished the mass) I met Jeff Libunao who is from QC.  He owns a car paintworks near the Mother Lily Building near Timog.  He is a lay minister of their church, and found out he likes car (like BMW 320i and the Forester (that is how is got him on conversation because he wore a jersey with Subaru words on it) which he has now and which we have in the house)  He rode on a Pinarello Dogma, one of the best looking and most expensive carbon bike in the world,  VM has two.

Those who more numerous were the MTB.  I passed in Taytay to buy item for the exchange gift at the Recyclists Chrismas party at Jess Verchez house on December 26, 2015,   Birthday din ni Echo
Happy birthday.

Picture of Joe Dombrowski's Pinarello Dogma 2 Training Bike

Real Cyclists

From Roadbike Review | February 25, 2013

VM owns a Dogma Pinarello, dubbed to be the world's most beautiful bike.  Here is a feature in the Roadbike review.  The featured bike is owned by Joe Dombrowski, who is from Fairfax Virginia but now lives in Nice France, and is a member of Team Sky Pro Cycling.   He does what bikers usually do:  train, ride, train, ride, train

Two very special bikes

The two bikes leaning on the Felt while parked in China must be worth over P50t, quite a fortune:

The Felt bike initially said "Ouch! You too are leaning on me!"

Dogma and Tarmac said  "We are light very light and we can not hurt you"

"And we are foreigners.  Dont you like foreigners?   Dogma is an Italian, and Tarmac is an American"

"Oh I see, I dont mind"

Both have durace group sets,  carbon fiber wheelsets, and all carbon frame probably each one weighing less than l5 lbs.  One is a Pinarello Dogma, the most beautiful bike in the world, accordint to You Tube, and the black and red is a Specialized Tarmac.  The owners both live in the same subdivisions and the Felt bike doesnt seem to mind the leaning

Best photo of the 5th Baguio ride.

Biking and health

Do you like this picture? Very classic and very agressive. Very Recyclist ang dating!!

You can sense the ferocity and the intensity of the ride; the harmony and the oneness and unity of the group biking towards a destination that is unseen but which beacons;  that which is not easy but hard, challenging and which only real men can reach. (The peloton pedalling rate must be fast and furious and yet the paceline is tight and intact)

By the way, the leader of the peloton rides a Pinarello Dogma, named to be the most beautiful bike in the world

And yet there is danger all around... And they are unmindful of these all;  all they focus intently is the ride to Baguio.

As of today, this is the most visited article/post of the 5th Baguio ride by the Recyclist.  Hmmm, many like the picture
