After the Baguio ride, I was thinking it quits in biking. I would just be one of service crew of the support team vehicle if ever. Reflecting on the ride, I did well in the Baguio ascent; not so well in the Angono to Urdaneta portion. Why? My headset was not working very well (it was kind of loose) I failed to have to it repaired on time. My cleats were not working well, the left did not give the distinctive click as I engaged it. therefore, I was not delivering 100% of the pedal stroke to the drive train. Third, I rode behind with a limping fellow rider. So I had to spin at his speed and thus tired out my legs and lost much of my motivation catching up withe lead pack. And lastly I rode practiced mostly with MTB and not road bike and that was the 2nd time I used a roadie again
However, as I used a roadie more and more and had the defects corrected (the head set is now OK, the cleats are brand new) I found out that more is left with my biking passion and distance to cover. The proof was in chasing the Recyclists kapadyak up to Pagsanjan and catching up with them, and able to complete the 186 km with nary distress or injury (only sore thigh muscles). I even overtook and ahead of some veteran riders going uphill
Today as I rode, to Pililla, I found out that I can still be rider for another decade. I passed about 5 riders (a lady included) and chased down and overtook a fellow elderly rider - at Montevideo, he passed me in Cardona but I caught up with him before Queen Mary and passed him, then he overtook me downhill and then I passed him at near the municipal hall of Morong but he overtook me in the town as he overtook vehicles in the traffic (I did not)
I felt that I could now pedal very hard gears 53 x 15 on the flats (before as MTB the hardest gear I pushed was 42 x 13) And I think (I do not have cyclo computer now) I could do 25 to 32 kph without much effort. While I fall asleep fast after I get home, I feel great afterwards. I still have to ape Val who can climb hills at 53 x 23

March 19, 2017
I woke up 5:45 this morning kind of late for the bike ride to Lucban (a long ride 100 kms one way, 200 kms in all) I immediately dressed up (my bike and gear were ready since last night) and was in Sacred Heart at 6:05. But the security officer said that they left at 5:45 (the moment I woke up) and so I gave chase. That means I was 20 minutes late.
I stopped at Simples Lugawan. None
I stopped at Hacienda Pisong Kape. At Nenas the MC rider inquired that if I was inquiring about the same guys who wear my uniform, they left 10 minutes ago. That meant I was gaining on the tropa.
At KM 66 + about 900 meters, the Defender was there and Jimmy met an accident. He was bumped by a motorcycle rider from Pasig. Jimmy was in great pain because he said he landed on his butt after he was thrown away from his bike. His front wheel was misaligned. The poor guy was embraced by the MC rider who gave him P200.00 to have his whee aligned. That meant that I was closing in. However, I had my breakfast: had coffee and spag at Manang. And saw Jimmy with Meong at the Defender drive past by.
That meant too that the riders would ride fast at their pace. They would no longer wait for Jimmy
I looked for them at Mabitac. None
At Manay's Famy None
At Manay in Pakil. NOne
At Kalayaan None.
I was planning to stop at Kalayaan since that would be about 60 km. all ready one way. But I went on may be up to Lumban. Then maybe at Pagsanjan. That is KM 70 with only 30 km remaining up to Lumban At about 9:45, I was in Business Center at Pagsanjan. And I was texting Engr. June Francisco whom I thought was with them, Jeff appeared.
I was surprised as they were that I was there. And so was I too. I never expected that I could catch them (cold probably)

Recyclists Long ride to Pagsanjan Yesterday August 31, 2014
Wheels of Happiness
Rizal Philippines | September 1, 2014
This was scheduled last Saturday, August 30, 2014. But it did not materialize because there was slight rain in Cainta, Taytay, Angono Binangonan (there was none in Cardona and Morong as we found out. Pres Luis also said that when they rode out with Jess at 8:00 to Morong and Teresa there was no rain.

The view from the ice plant at Cardona
The President of Recyclists Luis posted this at the facebook that we will ride today to Pagsanjan and we would assemble at Sacred Heart Church at 5 30 am.
I went to Sacred Heart church at 5:20 and waited until 5:40 but no one was there probably on account of the light showers. I thought that for most Recyclists Plan B is also Plan A (go ahead with the ride no matter what) I was in full battle gear except the cycling shoes.
So I decided to bike at least to Cardona. Lo and behold, there was no more rains and the roads were dry. We could have gone ahead. Did they proceed with the ride? I met no one on my ride back. I met only 5 mountain bikers.
May I say that I rode well since I slept well last night for this ride. I did Montevideo easy at 53 x 21 doing about 20 kph, Callahan at 53 x 23 at about 15 kph sitting down.
I did LLDA going back to Montevideo at 53 x 23 at about 12 kph.
Dry road in Cardona

Some hearsay news from Master re Atimonan Ride
Biking and health
As we were resting at Pisong Kape, Master Edwin told some more stories re the Atimonan ride:
l. They were not able to cross the bridge at Pagsanjan near the church to Cavinti so had to make a long detour via Magdalena and Majayjay. They had to walk a steep ascent there.
2. They went to the house of Jeffrey in Lucban. They spent about an hour there waiting for foood preparation.
3. The group of Joel, Diego, and Armin got lost; they made the wrong turn to Bondoc peninsula. They must have gone 20 km eastward when they discovered they were lost. They had to be picked up by the truck to get to bitukang manok. It was almost 3 pm when they were all accounted for.
4. 7 days they said, DNF again. (2nd time?)
