The carbon fiber wheel of VM was damaged; the damage affected the braking
VM could not ride the Colnago anymore because of the damaged wheel
We had two casualties yesterday in the ride to Tagaytay city: VMs carbon fiber wheels and a fellow driver who showed signs of heat stroke: he vomitted after reaching Tagaytay.
As for VM hitting a MC, there could be no expert on this. VM rear ended an MC near Sucat when the young rider turned left without signalling: hand or light. His front wheel got stuck between the wheel and muffler and he could utter was "Sorry po" VM landed on his rear seat and his bike stuck up with the rear end up. He had a flesh wound at the shin and it could be painful
Time and time again we have warned on the lack of safety habits, resulting from lack of safety training, and strict licensing for numerous MC owners being churned out daily. They do all sorts of crazy things: suddenly makes turns without signals, overtakes from the right, over speed, ride without helmets, riding in tandem or even more; ride without signal lights working, riding counter flow....Etc. How we wish they learn safety without these accidents or even deaths.
As for our fellow rider, he should have ridden more sensibly. He was all ready exhausted and fell back while at Niyogan . In the final l5 km to Tagaytay, he rode hard with the leaders. He must have ran out of sugar, and/or overheated (having a sun stroke or heat stroke - they are strokes and are life threatening) His skin was hot and it was good that first aid worked: cooling him with cold water (I bought ice from 711) We do not have to ride very hard on a hot day and when we are all ready exhausted. I and master relaxed and just spun and told stories. If ever we are late, they could not be more than 5 minutes.
It was good these were minor events. Richard's prayers worked. Thanks God.
God bless the Recyclists riders always
