My bike ride today, December 22, 2015 and attendance of Company Christmas Party

With my wife, children, and our staff

                                 Neng's Galley

I tried to make my bike ride today memorable.  It is the Christmas party of the staff of the two of the businesses we work in.  It was to be held at Neng's Galley in Tanay (km 55+)  I thought it to be good idea to bike there to work up my appetite.   I used the SAVA MTB.  However, the journey was to be slow and challenging.  The wide and big tires had a lot of rolling resistance, and the wind was blowing strong.  To top it all, I was ambitious and tried to go to Tanay via the diversion in Cardona.  The other day, I saw somebody who lives in Diversion and who bikes regularly to work on a MTB walked up the Western side ascent (from LLDA)  However, I used the 32 x 30 gear.  I huffed but I made it.

I still biked up to KM 58 and tried to outride  trio two MTBs and one fixie from KM 54 to KM 58.   Hehe.  They were probably in their twenties.   As soon as reached KM 58, I went back to Neng's galley at km 55 +.  And there I waited for the others to arrive.   The first batch from Morong arrived at 11:15, and the second batch from Angono at 12.  Talk about being on time and Filipino time

We had sumptuous lunch  (for 11 people) consisting of pansit, fried chicken, bulalao, pansit, ginataang swahe, kare kare. Wow!   and Leche plan.

After the lunch, we had the usual speeches and gift giving.

Merry Christmas!

Our Christmas gift to our staff

Delicious lunch:   bulalo over there and deep fried dalag

Mouth watering viand for the hungry biker:  fried chicken, pansit, ginataan swahe

My bike ride today to Antipolo City, January 14, 2015

Wheels of Happiness

Rizal Philippines   |  January 14, 2015

Welcome his Holiness Pope Francis Jorge to the Philippines tomorrow.

On the eve of Papal visit, (it is vacation now in MM) there is a dearth of cyclists.  I saw only 4 souls at the churchyard of Antipolo.

I took advantage of today's hill climb for strength training:

1.  I climbed Tower Hills at 50 x 17 gear, and up to Mary Hill 50x 21; Beverly was at 50 x25; however, going to the last bend to the church, I dropped the gear to 34 x 19.

Very few biked today November 1, 2013 - All Saints Day

Angono, Rizal, PHL   | November 1, 2013

At Holy Angels Memorial Park in Morong Rizal

Very few seemed to to have bike ride today because it is All Saints Day.  It is a holiday, and it is family day.  So they went straight to the cemetery.  I took this opportunity to ride and visit the cemetery.  I started out late though.

Though alone and my thighs were still screaming (due to the tough Lemery ride last Sunday October 27, 2013)  I still tried to do interval training.  10 x 10 secs of sprint, hard riding, even on uphills.  Now my thighs are screaming still.

I took pictures of the pollution, and Holy Angels Memorial Park.  The traffic, because it was still early when I biked, seemed well managed.

Jorgeusbiker tune up ride for June 23, 2013

Real Cyclists

Angono, Rizal PHL  | June 19, 2013

I had my second tune up ride for this coming Sunday.  I rode up to Quisao. I started at 6 am and was there about 8:30.   It was raining from Angono to near Macamot but was dry and sunny up to Halayhayin, Pililla Rizal.   But when I reached Baras/Tanay Rizal boundary, a light drizzle started to fall which became a drizzle when I reached Morong.  I dropped by Holy Angels Memorial Park where I had a Lomi breakfast.

Then I rode home via Cardona diversion. It is always a tough hill to climb but it was just after a drizzle so no problem.

I was home by l0:15.  Distance travelled (km 64 -28 = 36  x 2 = 72 km

Yesterday, I rode up to Morong.   About 60 km total.

                                   Ric Pacheco

I attended and even delivered welcome remarks for the ground breaking of Holy Angels columbarium at Taghangin,  Morong, Rizal.  There I met two mountain bikers:   Ric Pacheco (related to the artist in Morong Rizal) Rev. Fr. Celso Bagabaldo, the parish priest of San Guillermo, Teresa, Rizal.  He blessed the ground breaking

I had a long talk with Ric:   on gears, shoes, chain, lubricating chains,  benefits of biking, IBW in biking.  It is a convergence of sorts.  Business and  hobbies come together.

A child of one of the land owners of Holy Angels Memorial Park, happens to  be a mountain biker too.

Fr. Celso Bagabaldo, right, is an MTB rider

Hi Jamie Angeles An MTB, son of our JV Partner at Holy Angels

Have bike, we will help save the earth..

My friend and Tokayo, George Angeles invited me to join their family gathering at their Garden Estate at Holy Angels Memorial park.  There I met his brother who just came home from the USA.  and also his pamangkin, son of Ben who died in an air crash at the North, (Asian Spirit full  of spirit).  The plane they said was flying 4t feet in an area where mountains are 8t feet (pilot error again)  That was ll years ago na pala seemed so recent.

Well Jamie (who bears the 2nd half of the name of Benjamin) also bikes.  he happens to be companion of Mon Apuya, an ultra cyclist (he bikes up to Sorsogon thats awesome. Sorsogon is 600 km away.)

Jamie said they biked to Tayabas last Sunday.  They left at 3 am last Sunday. Well we were to Luisiana last Sunday.  They had team vehicle going home though. We went out and back without vehicle.  That was tough.

Tokayo George wears the Blue Shirt the balikbayan wears white shorts; Jamie is in Black Shirt. Jamies Ma is the lady with the pink fan.  The Holy Angeles.
