Certificate of Achievement of Jorgeus Biker for the 5th Baguio bike ride

Biking and health

A picture is worth a thousand pictures.  Here is my diploma for this torturous 3rd ride to Baguio:

Side by side with VM at paceline at Sison Pangasinan:  doing 30+ kph

Did the Fuji carbon fiber frame, Mavic wheels and Campy group set helped hasten the pace?

With the awesome G group:   VM, K tops;  VM showing the strain on his face?

For a while JB burned the concrete pavement

You could be scared by the trucks and buses whizzing by

Peloton left behind by JB at Sison

Who can still pace when you are 61?

On the final drive to Camp 6:   VM, K tops and Jorgeusbiker

Our Baguio ride of 280 kilometers reminds us of the 1981 movie "300 Miles for Stepahanie"

Biking and health

Three hundred miles for Stepahanie

There was this 1981 movie where a police officer (Vietnam veteran too) promises to walk 300 miles to a sanctuary so that the Lord will help his gravely ill abnormal daughter Stephanie

Well, remember, our grand parents pray the rosary while walking kneeling to the altar.  This ride is extreme penance too right?  How about biking for 300 km?  Is this the same as saying the rosary while kneeling on the way to an altar?

Our Baguio ride is nearly 300 km.  Is there a similarity with the movie?

What are the wishes of the Recyclists?

What are the prayers?

What do you think?
