Sneaking at Ridley Bike HQ - leading cyclocross supplier in Europe

Real Cyclists

From Roadbike Review | March 9, 2013

Ridley bikes from Belgium have been responsible for 7 out 11 championship in the cyclocross circuit in Europe.  Belgium chocolates are also well known world wide.

Ridley believes that they must provide the best equipment since Belgium is a biking country.

Ridley HQ is a 12,000 square meter facility located in an industrial park about  1 hour from Brussel.  This where the finishing the handpainting, assembling, (installing the wheels and components) and those famous stickers. take place.  The frames arrive from Asia where all the work on the frame is done.. So do not get the idea that you still have frames made in Europe -  THEY ARE ALL MADE IN TAIWAN AND CHINA!  Finishing and painting assembling are done in the country of origin of the brand.!

We discussed with Jayjay that we got cheap unfinished frames, branded, as the nighshift production from China?

Made in China carbon fiber bike frames

Biking and health

If you want to see the latest from China, you can click the link.  Many of US and European bike makers have shifted their operations to Taiwan, and then lately to China.  Costs are lower.

However buyers beware.  You may save a few bucks by going direct to China.

It is nice to know for your information and so that you can haggle/bargain with your local bike store.
