Recylists are shifting back to 39 chain rings

Pilillla, Rizal Philippines.  Pisong Kape.  January 20. 2013. I replaced the crank and chain ring set of the GTS bike with Durace 53 39 gears.  The present crank, a Shimano Sora compact set 50 x 34 has loose BB;  it is noted that its weakest link is its BB;  the bearing gets busted -- the left side early on.  Weak construction and engineering because it is made of thermoplastic bearing.

I surveyed the Recyclists and noted that the following:   Luis, Joel. have shifted to the heavier 39 chain ring set.   The rest maintained their 39 chain ring set.

Maybe for the Baguio ride, we need the 34 chain ring set.
