Did a Morong, (via Bombonngan, San Guillermo) Teresa Antipolo ride

Wheels of Happiness

Did a Morong, Teresa Antipolo loop yesterday.  it was via Bombongan.  The ride through Bombongan features 5 hills:   3 initially from Morong Manila East Road, and 2 at the far end nearing the zigzag road.

I had to be careful and even walked my bike through a narrow portion  going up vicinity of Real Cove.  Feared being rear ended as in Capitolyo the other day.   I saw two Vaciador riders and kept with one most of the way.  just 10-15 meters trailing behind.

Was happy with this ride.  Fulfilled and very much exercised

Climbed two hills yesterday - testing for health and endurance

Wheels of Happiness

Yesterday, climbed two hills:    Sikatan in Mahabang Parang and Antenna Hills.   What was surprising was despite that it was hot, the efforts seemed light.

For Sikatan, going up to Pitallo at 34 -36t was continuous and there was no stopping.   This was on a road bike.  This post invites other riders to visit Sikatan and patronize this establishment  There were no customers when I biked there

For Antenna Hills, the plan was to go up only up to intersection of Aristorenas, then at the Church, then at the water tank and eventually ended up at the Antenna.   Many think that the road bike is inappropiate for hill climbs but this post did this well on a road bike.

This post feels very much accomplished for this climb

Riding stronger (and maybe faster)

Wheels of Happiness

This post rode up to Bugarin KM 69, and Nanay Rina last Tudesday, using 50 chain ring, and 28 cogs until KM 66, and  50 x 32 up to KM 69.   That is quite hard gear

Before I used to climb Bugarin at 34 or 36 x 28, or 30t.  But now as a senior, I climb up using hard gears.  They say that is the best way to get stronger.  And feel like young again.   Stopping or getting lazy or easy will not do anything for your physique.  You will get weaker, you get osteoporosis, and back pains

How hard is climbing 7 up hills

Wheels of Happiness

What is your experience?

Hill climbs abound around town

Wheels of Happiness

This post was wondering why I had to seek other venues for biking and practicing hill climbs as in Tanay Sampaloc or Kay Biang, or Baguio when there is no shortage of hill climbs to explore around town.
This weekend, this post climbed:  Mambog, Bombongan, Crystal East going to Macamot.

Here is a list of hill climbs that you can explore:

1.  Domsa
2.  Kape in the Sky at Hillsdale (at Botong Francisco)
3.  DOMSA
4.  Antenna
5.  Labahan
6.  Quarry Road
7.  Sikatan kape at Pitallo St. Mahabang Parang
8.  Kalawaan
9.  Macamot
10.  Tatala
11.  Kasinay

We can practice a lot here before going far away
