When your ride with a 20 year old, you have to pedal hard and fast like a 20 year old - not the way you usually ride

This morning I rode with a 20 year old, a maritime student graduating this year - an apo of former HS classmate.   I rode with him and his cousin 5 years ago to Pililla.   He wanted to ride yesterday with me to Antipolo, which I failed to do yesterday, but I promised him today.  He lives about 12 km away in Pateros and we agreed to meet up at traffic light of Highway 2000  at 7:00 am today.   I came some 15 mins earlier and he came at 7:00 am exactly.  We pedalled through highway 2000 on the way to Antipolo  I pedalled hard and fast because he was doing exactly that.

I gave him 4 choices for the ride from highway 2000:

     1.  Go via the route he took yesterday

     2.   Go via the route he took yesterday and then ride to DOMSA

     3.   Ride straight to DOMSA

He opted for No 2.  I gave him another option:    up to Antipolo via Cabrera which he declined.  He looks like he is overweight at 200 lbs and may have difficulty in climbs. 

Riding up Antipolo he slowed considerably at hills  but was fast downhill

At DOMSA he saw Walls 1 and 2 and concluded that he was right in dismissing  #3.   

We must have pedalled over 40 km

To look young you must think you are young.  Choose the age 20 or 30

      

Could we wear a yellow jersey - never but can ride the same bike and crash harder than they do!!

I rode today up a steep hill  and watched afterwards  a video a clip of Pogie winning a stage and wearing a Yellow Jersey.  We could not wear a Yellow Jersey like they do but we can ride the same bike, experience the same pain as you race or climb a hill.   Or worse crash.

In some areas of our lives we can wear a yellow,jersey as a champ, for having achieved something of note.  but not the TDF Yellow Jersey.

This post sent pics of my Domsa Christmas eve ride  to a kapadyak who lives now at Loakan Baguio City, and he immediately replied that he experiences:   pains all over his body and trigger (locked fingers)  I said I was able to cure it.  I had it before.  Someone I know had it surgically  solved.

One becomes frightful if there are doubts of being corrupt or immoral in your life (babaero kaya?)

Bike riding especially near cliff areas is becoming frightful and dangerous?!

We are not sure whether we are corrupt and Kara David's 52nd birthday wish could be deadly.

Many more are being killed run over by trucks and passenger vehicles.   Of late we had a senior govt  official - Usec Catalina Cabral  dying from jumping off/being pushed off the cliff.

Less biking  for today and the Christmas season.

We condole and sympathize with family of fmer Usec Secretary Ma Catalina Cabral yesterday.  

She was alleged to have been pushed, jumped off the cliff.   Ms. Cabral holds the keys and clarification on many flood control project anomaly and the budger insertions.

Sad day for Phil politics and search for justice.

When are they pulling the plug for the life support system of classmate who became veggie from a fall?

A classmate was reported to be fighting for his life at St Lukes Hospital in BGC after he suffered a fall and a brenda.   He is on life support system and apparently is brain dead, a vegie and its a matter of time that the plug would be pulled out on him

We are supposed to have RHS Class 68 reunion on Jan.8 2026.  He will not be there physically but in memories

Everybody dies for a reason.  And that his reason.  At this age, life is fragile and roll calls by the Lord can become frequent.  

That is life boys, and we all thank the Lord for this borrowed life

Rode a bus to La Union; bus passed by Dau Public Market, recalled accident on the way to Baguio ride

This post went to La Union on business trip  via bus and surprise the bus after stopping at Dau terminal, went through MacArthur highway and this post recalled the accident I had several years back on the way to Baguio City ride.   An MC which was unregistered driven by a youngster without license slammed into the right side  (illegally overtaking from the right) of the bike, a Pinarello Dogma with a Bora wheelset,  hitting the carbon wheelset.    I and my bike scattered along the highway.  Unfortunately the justice palakasan system freed the youngster who caused the accident.    Despite the fact that the Public Officer were threatened by a Mun Council Sec who was with us, a lawyer.

Fortunately for me, I was able to continue on the damaged bike.  But eventually my bike wheelset gave way and had to be replaced.  

I now fear long trips due to this incident.

Its good that the apo (granddaughter) is taking interest in biking .  She test drove a bike at Decathlon (as their residence is nearby) but it cost P8,000.  At Villamayor the price is half.   I checked again this morning and they have bikes costing P3,300 to P3,800.   We are finalizing the deal tomorrow.

My BP has been acting wildly - the systolic reading goes up but the diastolic is steady.   Yesterday it was 121/82 and that meant it was safe to ride  I rode antenna today, initially planning to be only up at Aida St. But ended just before Marian.    

Still capable.  Yakang yaka pa.
