Wheels of Happiness

This post visited Jeff Gaffud two nights ago at San Isidro Hospital and he had appendectormy by laparascopy method.    He was as as rider very strong because he was able to wake up just barely 6 hours post op.    Even appendectomy is done almost less traumatically using laparascopy (But expensive very expensive)

Those car bike, MC accidents of loss of bike lanes pour cold water in cyclists enthusiasm, make them afraid

Wheels of Happiness

The publication of many pictures of accidents involving bikes and motor vehcles sow fear into the hearts of cyclists. Furthermore, the safety that used to be provided by bike lanes is gone;  most of them have become sharrows.  (Shared ROWs)

Even pros die from motor vehicle accidents.  And there are deaths in MV accidents where the passengers are protected by metals, how much more if it is between an all metal MV and a biker?  That is fear inspiring.

Ride safe friends, kapadyaks.

Met fellow kapadyak - represented his Uncle in a possible deal

Wheels of Happiness

This post prepared well for this meeting this morning for real estate deal.  However, his uncle, a 69 year old men, had returned to USA and he represented his uncle -  to present the document and relay how the deal would be.

Later when the formalities were lifted, this post found out that he is an RB rider from Taytay.  He has a twin brother who does the Audax.    We shared stories about riding, going to Bugarin and Teresa on big chain rings, Laguna loop.

You meet the nicest people on bikes.   Kapamilya.  Kanegosyo pa.

A repost on energy drink peril

Wheels of Happiness

This post has seen a resurgence on the endorsement of energy drinks even from some of fellow bloggers and famous influencer.   This is an activity that we should view with caution.  It is unfotunate that the  enegy drinks are named after venomous snake, or animals that can be wild.  That is the effect on our health.

Let us beware vigilant.

A kapadkyak who drank a famous venomous snake had kidney faiure   He died   (  suffeaths from drinking energy drinks

Rizal Philippines
June 24, 2018

Salunga 42 x 22. He6.

Wheels of Happiness

Rizal Philippines
June 6, 2017

I came across Meong this morning after an AM ride and he told me that there is a planned ride this Saturday,   Assembly at 4 am, depart 5 am for Lucena.  We ride the van.   And from there we catch the 10 am boat ride to Marinduque.  We sleep at the place of Sec. Noe.  Then June 11, we ride around Marinduque.   The following or evening, we take the boat ride to Lucena and from there ride back to Angono.

The estimated expense would be about P1,000 per.  Sounds an interesting ride.

Mga kapadyak join na.

Ang tanong practisado ba?

The Kapadyaks nearly balked on the Lemery ride from Tagaytay but we did it!

Real Cyclists

Post for the Lemery ride yesterday, October 27, 2013

When we arrived at Tagaytay yesterday at about 11 am, there was a lot of discussion as to whether we will continue to  Lemery or not.  Some would just want to go to the Sky Ranch (the big Ferris wheel. It was crowded.  Business models are correct in saying that something unique and compelling would draw crowds.

But many and I am one of them agreed that it was our plan/goal to go to Lemery.  We had gone to Tagaytay so many times, and we had to break out of that mold. Many feared that going back would take its toll, especially returning from Lemery back to Tagaytay.  It was understandable after the  Mendez road torture.

And so we did.  We were in Lemery by 12:00 noon, and we had our lunch by 100 pm at Aling Betchay.  By that time, our thanks were empty.  We left Tagaytay at almost 2 pm

Still debating as to we will go or not;  about to ascent to Lemery

We were in Lemery after 15 minutes

A much better remembrance picture of Lemery Castle

                                   Are you admiring the castle?

That is KM 78, my bike at the km post

                                        Part of twin lakes complex?

The cows enjoying the grass, the cool weather and the magnificent view

Nanding patiently waited for me as I took remembrance pictures

                                     Canyon woods

                                  Cypress trees at Canyon woods

                                 Canyon Woods entrance

                                      Canyon woods reception building

I had to stop often for pictures;  I am the recorder/photographer

Sana they dont display the laundry to the tourists

I am glad that we pushed through with the Lemery ride.  What we planned to do we do.  And that is success.  Now we can tell everyone we went to Lemery, no doubt about it.  We were so near and everybody was balking and changing their minds.

It is a pity we did not enjoy the nice scenery and the cool weather. I did as I took the pictures.  I may be delayed by 5 minutes but I was able to do this task and Ado was only say a 100 meters ahead

All set for the long ride by Recyclists kapadyak to Lemery Batangas today

Real Cyclists

Angono, Rizal PHL  | October 27, 2013

I just woke up and I am ready for the long ride this 5:30 for Lemery Batangas via Tagaytay.  We will meet with other REcylists kapadyak at INC church in Angono at 5:00 am and depart by 530.  I met Luis and Nolite last night near Nolite's place after I got the bike from Haooh;  Boyeth fixed my creaking bottom bracket at the Fuji with Campy parts.  He said the BB was just dirty and had the chains replaced with Campy chain set.

According to Pres Luis, the distance is 95 km.  And it might be just 20 km longer than Tagaytay ride (one way)  I posted eralier many information on Lemery.

We will have type A uniform (the gulaman, latest one) bring cash, and spare parts.  The Suzuki vehicle will back us up

We pray for a very safe ride to Lemery.  I hope we will have the usual number of kapadyak for this ride
