This is contrary to champion credo to never ever quit.   But he quit at the 14th stage of TDF, lagging at the end of the peloton.

Perhaps it was his debacle at the 13th stage TT where Jonas overtook him at the finish line.  Wishing our idol and champ all the BEST.

Its the birthday of my late mother today.  Happy Birthday Inang.

I rode to Antipolo, heard mass at the church and then rode to Teresa.  On the way I practiced two sprints going up to Robinson land and one before descending to Teresa.  Then another sprint at Hill right after San Guillermo.

I had my lugaw at the lugawan at the kanto to the left before descending to town proper.

Let me tell you stories about some of my chases/race with some bikers:

I think I did well in the Bisikleta Iglesia yesterday, despite being unable to get off from the bed last Sunday  (March 29, 2015)  That may be due to:   fatigue from Calapan travel Thursday, and Friday and high blood sugar

I was in front, at the peloton at the following stages:

1. From Angono to Taytay (hence I was able to take picture at Iglesia Taytay;

2.  From Junction to Karangalan (together with VM)

3.  From Padre Pio to Sta Clara church  (VM and I were first in the church)

4.  Going down from Balara to Tumana (I was with Gerry Y)

5.  Well I was tasked with showing the way from Concepcion church to the church of the abandoned in San Roque,

and exiiting from San Roque to Tuazon, Sta Lucia and to Junction  (that is why I was able to take their picture at Junction)

Still strong at 64 (senior citizen hehehe - puede pa)

I thought the Bisikleta Iglesia was a leisurely ride; but the peloton was doing 40 kph!

I thought we would just do "padyak2" for the Bisikleta Iglesia.  I was mistaken.  We left Sacred Heart at 6:00 exactly.  We were at km 58 (about 30 km) at exactly 7:00 am.  That is doing 30 kph.  It was my first time ever to accomplish that.  Hence we were at Pisong Kape a little over 7:00 am.  Wind was whizzing past our ear, as maybe I was doing 30 kph.  Gerry K said they were riding at 40 kph Gerry Y and I were chasing one another.  Consider also that we were delayed by bare footed devotees in Cardona (Sanbaste) having a procession.

The speed returned to normal when we started riding to the churches.

It is not everyday that you get to Ternate.  When we had the opportunity to take pictures, we did so with gusto, even if were behind  the peloton.

I was happy with my ride yesterday because I was not left alone by the peloton.  From the moment we left the Sacred Heart Paris, I made it a point to contact the peloton, although I was just spinning.  I was abreast up to Montevideo and up to Cardona. 

When we were in Callahan, I attacked to lead and saw no responded (huhuhu)  not knowing that the peloton's speed at that time was only l5 kph.  I was ahead until Bagombon when VM and I rode side by side.  We were probably doing 30+.  Then at Maybancal I was left behind, but I caught on until the hill at Baras/Tanay where I was just behind by some l5 meters.   I tried to chase and I left behind Ado.  At km 58, Ado left me and I gave chase to him and one of the Verchez brothers and left behind near the summit before going down to Pisong Kape.

On the way to Bugarin, I was ahead all alone up front up to Km 64 when they attacked me.  I did not realize that many were behind.  Pres Luis overtook me at Km 67, but I left behind Chieboy. I was with Ben.

Later on some riders came later:   Master, Ado, one of the Verchez bros.  I am no longer a street sweeper.

More practice needed.
