This Pililla MRF does not belong here; what do you think?

Wheels of Happiness

Pililla, Rizal  Philippines    |  December 22, 2013

For many places, eco tourism, tourism, and in this case bike tourism bring in revenues, income to the residents.  We have seen this work in Bohol, Cebu, Palawan and many places in the country.  The great and picturesque views draw in the bikes, motorists, and the sales from goods that eventually end up in the coffers of the LGU.  I call this bikenomics.   Without the bikers and motorcyclists, and other tourists, sales of these establishments:  restaurants, souvenir shops, etc. is drops to below their profitable levels.  I saw this on weekdays.  Only the viajeros keep up the sales but not so much.

One batch of bikers and motorcylists can ramp up bills up to P2,000 in one sitting and there could be 5 up to 10 groups or even more during week ends.

DOT and Rizal LGUs plan bike tour packages

Biking and health

This is new and unique!

Our bikemate Richard Ang was inquiring last Sunday if anyone was available to volunteer to be a marshall for a planned bike tours by DOT for Rizal uptowns.  That marshall shall be:   trained by DOT to be a tour guide - to speak well on the destinations (maybe in Japanese too), must bike well and knowledgeable in bike repairs.  DOT or  the travel agency will provide the back up vehicle and the bikes.

I volunteered to talk to the DOT representative tomorrow;   however, he had a sudden appointment, so it is going to be next week.  Anyway we have bike ride preparation tomorrow.

I will propose that the tour package must include souvenir visit and lunch promos. for more income generation for our kababayan.

Please View Slides from Slideshare

"Mens sana en corpora sano" Sound mind in a sound body.

I had many slides from Slideshare Website posted on this blog for the last 3 days so that I myself would be able to access them from this blog. I find them interesting and quite enjoyeable to watch. They cover wide range of topics: distance biking, nutrition, bikeshare, bike equipment, bike tourism, safety. To find them, look at the archive list at the sidebar and click.

I hope you like the sidebars, the news, blogroll, and slideshows

Enjoy. Cheers
