Bike ride today to Antipolo City

Wheels of Happiness

I left at 5:30 am for Antipolo City today.  There were not too many vehicles and it looked pleasant and safe to bike. But it was light chain ring day.  I used 39 x 15 going up to Tower hills, and 39 x 19 up fibertex and caltex and 39x 25 (I have 27) at Beverly hills.   All involved standing.  Going up the last hill, standing is 39 x23.

That meant more strength and more pedal power.    Hooray for a senior going on to be 64 next month.

I passed Sir Dennis at Fibertex going up at Antipolo but he overtook me at Beverly

I biked to Antipolo City today; I left at at about 6:50 and brought my SARS with Ultegra groupset, 53 x27.   I did two stationary bike training doing variety only with 4 minutes of ILT and sprints/criterium running (15 seconds of hard biking at 39 x17 or 53 x 17) rest for 30 secs)

I found some improvement in my Antipolo climb because earlier I was able to to Hard Interval with Dennis of Taytay.  (Dennis says he sell jerseys online c/o group of RBP)  Dennis knows me and my bike well;  however not so with my case. Thanks Dennis for following me

We rested at Antipolo Cathedral and attended the 7:00 am mass (it was homily all ready when we arrived).  Another chubby fellow rider on a Ridley also overtook me before the last bend but he was never very far away.

I rode to the Tikling Cabrera road yesterday August 29, 2014

I biked to Antipolo yesterday up to Lores, via the Kaytikling Cabrera road.  This is the home of the DECS, Provincial Jail of Rizal, and the Sto Rosario Memorial Park.  It is rather a challenging and steep ride, more challenging than the Fibertex, Beverly Hills Climb to Antipolo

There are 3 hills:  the one at ABC building, then the next one at Victory Church, and the 3rd one after the 2nd gate of Maharlika .  It is about 2 km, the last 500 meters that turns sharply to the left leaves you breathless.

It rained while I was climbing this and before I had to stop 3x for this ride, this time I did this without dismounting
