Recyclists Maws complete Samar Leyte Mindanao ride in 5 days

Wheels of Happiness

That is a big Wow.  May be they are doing 50 kph about 400 km per day.  Thats superhuman.   In 5 days they were all ready in Mindanao.  Typically many riders complete the epic journey in 14 days.

This is superhuman.   Sakalam.  Lodi   Jeff2, Alan, Netoy  an Gerry.

Di natuloy Kay Biyang ride to Ternate Cavite, Kay Manang na lang... dahil sa rains

Wheels of Happiness

Rizal Philippines
November 5, 2017

The proposed ride to Kay Biang in Ternate Cavite (boundary of  Cavite Batangas tunnel) did not materialize today because of the non stop rains since last night.  As for me, I had lbm;    had 3 before I left, had another one at Sacred Heart Church.

I came across a group of Fixie riders (4) in front of Grandspan. One had a flat, and could not fix it since they do not have portable pump.  I waited for them and said they would  just tag along towards Bugarin.  But since they have superior gear ratios, they left me at Pantok..

It was my hard gear today, and tried to ride up hills, including  Montevideo and Callahan at 44 x 17.  It was hard and I had to stand.  Near the entrance of diversion, I saw Jeff, Alan and  Pres Luis having a drink/snacks.  They said they came all ready from Pisong Kape.  (I started about 7:30 all ready).  It was 9:30 all ready.  Gerry they said and another one went up Bugarin and said they would wait for Gerry Then Edgard came and he said he would bike to Morong to buy a capacitor for his aircon motor.   The shop was closed today or could have transferred to Sumulong St.   We split ways near the old municipal hall and I turned back going home.   The trio were no longer there  when I reached the former spot where I met them.

Was home by 11:00 am

Here are some great pictures of Recyclists as we rode to various churches.  That I was able to take their pictures meant that the author had a good jump on other riders (hehe he - yabang po ba? Iba na ang natanda  nagaling. nayabang)

Nakasakay ko si Insan Rommel and Hannah sa van last Saturday

Wheels of Happiness

Rizal, Philippines   |  November 17, 2014

An old picture in 2012 that shows Smith and Alan together near the fast food.

This party traveled on a business trip to Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, November 14 to 15 2014.   He left Calapan 3 pm on a boat ride, arrived at Batangas port at by 5 pm and traveled by bus up to Crossing.

It was difficult to get ride at Edsa central and Starmall and I tried to get a ride at Megamall terminal.  Lo and behold, 5 minutes after a van arrived, and I found myself seated next to whom?   Rommel (Smith and daughter Hannah).

I asked if the post of Pres Luis about the Jalajala ride pushed through.  They said the ride did not push through because it was raining.  But Jess, Alan, and Master arrived.

He also had a spat with the security officer regarding the placement of bike so that it will not be stolen.

They came from WTTC bike exhibit wanting to buy something different.  I told them that I got an 88 gm pedal from all places, Marauder in Antipolo City, and Jagwire.

Rommel and Hannah paid for my P45.00 van fare. Thanks po.  Nice meeting fellow bikers, after coming from  far away place.  It reminded me to bike tomorrow.

I declined to join the Tagaytay ride today May 12, 2013

Real Cyclists

Angono, Rizal   PHL   May 12, 2013

I got a text from Angel last night inviting me to join a ride to Tagaytay today.  I declined because it is still hot today.  And considering my age.... And a cousin is about to be  buried because he died from a heat stroke.  He does not have a complaint but died because of jogging last Monday.  And it was hot...

Those who went were Alan, Gerry and Angel....

And the rest were wondering why they were not invited.

Real Cyclists

Eastridge, Angono, Rizal   May 5, 2013

                                      Alan almost at the top

We met several MTB riders from Pasig on the way up to Eastridge yesterday, May 4, 2013.  It is part of our corporate practice on Saturday to stay healthy and strong.   The group whom we saw climbed the hill 2x.

They were all on granny gear:    24  x34 and doing crossstich.  I have not climbed Eastridge yet on roadbike.  A was not even able to approach Unamonte.

Near the checkpoint, one left turn and long climb remaining
