Fellow kapadyaks were discussing that EPO (erythropoietin) the drug of choice of former 7 times champ of Tour de France Lance Armstrong does not work, study shows. Lance was stripped of his title and faces the possibility of $100 million lawsuit from the US govt (UPS one of Lance sponsors) The experiment, which involved riding up the famous difficult Mt. Ventoux . The control group which took the placebo (no EPO) actually rode faster than the EPO group
This is in stark contrast to a 2007 study from Sports Scientists which shows 50% increase in performance by athletes using EPO.
EPO is hormone that enhances the production of RBC is risky because the athlete can develop clots and strokes and other fatal health problems
Experts think that the placebo effect that the drug was working was more psychological than real, after all. for Lance and other users, according to Adam Cohen, the first author of this study
What is the implication of the result of this study? Will EPO use be allowed in athletic competition once again? Will the ruling bodies of the cycling association restore the titles to Lance Armstrong? Once again the halo on Lance head, the crown is beginning to reappear?

Lance confesses to doping to Oprah

After several months of silence, former cycling "superstar" Lance has finally admitted/confessed to doping at Oprah Winfrey at Four Seasons Hotel in Austin Texas. Oprah said though that Armstrong did not come clean. He confessed to using performance enhancing drugs to win the Tour de France, after vehemently denying this for years. No further details were mentioned.
Armstrong is in talks with US Justice Department to return portion of the $35 million dollar sponsorship money spent by US Postal Service on Lance and his team. The terms of the sponsorship were violated.
Lance could write a book on:
l. How to dope without getting caught
2. How to lie about doping
Or put up a school for doping for cyclists; or coaching job for doping? Joke joke

Lance Armstrong loses 7 Tour de France titles

Lance Armstrong lost his 7 TDF titles from the doping case filed in US and whose witnesses are Americans and former team mates. We will never know the truth behind this case, as some of the witnesses are confessed liars.
Is there a sliver of truth that he did not cheat in his biking career?
If he did then all the books on biking about him, and by his coach Chris Carmichael would just go to the dustbins of history as all lies and hypocrisy.

Deeper Insight Into the Importance of Biking and Exercise
Bike and Save the Earth
As I was researching on the net cheap cures and medication I began to appreciate more the importance of biking to health and longevity.
For instance on cheap/homemade cancer cures (we know that chemotherapy and surgery are the usual way to go in cancer cures).
l. Oxygen therapy. High concentration of oxygen zaps cancer cells; cancer Aids cells or heart diseased cells thrive on low oxygen level. At the organism level, this can be done by drinking more water, deep breathing, going to oxygen bars or hyperbaric chambers, inhaling oxygen in canisters etc.
However at the cellular level, this can only take place if there is efficient respiration and transport of oxygen from blood to the cells. This can only happen if the organism is well exercised;
2. High body temperature zaps cancer cells. Definitely when we bike our body temperature rises not only for 30 minutes but up to 8 hours for long rides. We more than comply with this anti cancer environment.
I now realized that when my late father was asking his ENT Dr. Jaurencio Jarin, a noted marathoner and US educated MD at Harvard, about how not to have cancer, the answer was "Exercise" That is how I started to run marathons too and met Dr. Jarin on the course.
So maybe that is how Lance A crushed his arch enemy? (Cancer of the T)
