Danger: warning re robbery (snatching) at DOMSA

This post got a warning from the Club Pres who flagged us when riding to DOMSA.  There was a snatching incident which involved the President of MTB group   Pres Ruben and an acquaintance.

So many incidents at DOMSA all ready:   shooting at resto resulting in death of former councilor;  a fire that destroyed many resto at the view deck, a bikenapping at Labahan, aside from accidents involving loss of brakes and overshooting the dog leg.   

What is the PNP doing?   No patrols?   Cant they do sanitation drive at the area?

Let us all be blessed annd be a blessing for others.

Ingat po tayo lagi kapadyak  sa mga jeep at mga pasaway ng motor. Sa Binangonan, Angono area.
Ipatupad sana ng awtoridad ang batas trapiko vs:   ovespeeding, drunken driving, counterflow etc.... etc.

Ilang beses nang umapela sa FB at sa site na ito sa mga may kapangyarihan na ienforce ang batas trapiko sa highway (sa diversion) Manila East road   Investment sa traffic infrastructure, kasi parang race track ito ng mga jeep Cubao JRC para makarami. Tingin ko ang iba kargado ng droga at lasing.  May pabanking2 pa.

Heto na nga.  Martes ng gabi 4 ang patay sa isang malagim na aksidente.  Pangalawa kaagad ito sa magkalapit ng lugar before LTO...!!!!... Di na maibabalik ang buhay.  Maski ikulong mo ng 10x habambuhay ang driver.  Ang naganap na ay naganap.  Ika nga ng kanta ni Peter Paul and Mary, "How many times must cannon balls fly..."....xxxs "the answer my friend is blowing in the wind."



Iyakan blues na lang.  Ipinalangin natin ang kaluluwa ng namatay at ng mga driver na harungas, at otoridad na natutulog.... at pabaya.  Sisihan na naman.  Sa tapat/malapit sa LTO office naganap.  Paalala sa mga namamahala para higpitan licensing at enforcement ng LTO laws.

Yesterday, we were troubled by Wangwang of a group of bikers who had police escorts and Mahindra Patrol Cars. I thought them to be sponsored by the PPO (the provincial commander loves biking and he likes that station commander bike too:  our town and other neighboring towns station commanders have top of the line bikes)  In one of the towns, where our comrade Gerry met an accident, the investigator told me that the station commander owns an expensive mountain bike.

As we passed at Cardona, we saw the hordes resting;  while the Pisong Kape, they passed by.  They were about 2 dozens.

At Jalajala, at Bagumbong, the sound of Wang2 startled us and the presence of 3 police MC escorts signalling us to stay at the side.  Of course, I we did not I overtook them on many occasions and I recognized the guy in blue and light green shirt who was leading the troops sponsored the Cardona 4x loop  He was very much improved rider.  Now leading by fast pace.   We learned from the other riders that:    1.  It was biking with business;  while biking the PPO inspected the station commander.  2.  Most of those who were riding are police officers;   only 8 are civilians.

They of course could not match the speed of the road bike;  Meong overtook most of them after we left Jalajala.  The civilian bikers rested and stopped just before Pisong Kape;  some of  them rode the patrol vehicles (laspag na)

P.S:  from what we heard, they are stronger because they do #hardinterval training at Hill Top often (from Tikling up to Hill top)

May be it is a great way to develop higher fitness level among cops to:

1.  To arrest criminals especially the drug pushers and addicts
2.  To organize bike patrols (to save on gas and patrol vehicles maintenance as in NYC.

But we rode on.

Many committed to join and showed apparently showing they will join but only 8 persevered to join: Pres Luis Meong, the promoter, Angel, Peter, Gerry K, Ed de los Reyes (7 days) Netoy and Jorgeus Biker.  The others who showed up:  Nolite, Val, Joel, Richard did not join the long ride.

We met at 6:00 at Sacred Heart and left at about 7:20.  We were at Pisong Kape at about 7:20, a pretty fast pace.   I led the group up to km 57 where the group overtook me.  For me km 58 was the end point of the ride.  And then at 8:30 we went up hill up to Bugarin.  I found out I left my water bottle that is I why I have to buy water at Manangs at Bugarin.   Those who were left were me Edgar (he jingled) and Peter.  We looked for the troops (tropa) at agreed rallying point:   near the waiting shed after Bugarin (near Angelito Roans resort) and after the bridge en route to Pakil/Jalajala.  We did not find them

We continued pedalling furiously at about 28 to 32 km pace until we reached the Jalajala cemetery.  There we had lunch and left at 11:30.  We pedalled at 11:30 and chased the PNP bikers.  Meong caught up and overtook them.   Angel and I were left behind and I was left behind however I caught up with them at Morong.   We rested in Morong for quite a while because it was a hot day despite the overcast skies.

We were in Calumpang Binangonan  by 1:45 and rested there until 2:00 pm.  Still a very hot day.; I rested in Binangonan munisipyo.    However there was traffic at Granspan till Tagpos.  I wonder what the cause of traffic was.

Bikers Road Safety vs. SAFE as a theme/priority

This post commends the gathering of Rizal leaders:  provincial fiscal, the Comelec PNP director for having its theme of S.A.F.E, (Secure and Fair Election) as their theme, and to promote that in yesterday's MTB race.. Unless there the political dynasty in Rizal are vicious warlords, and unless they have worthy opponents, the unsafe or unfair election are mostly unlikely to happen.  The bikers and the general public could not care less and may be irrelevant for most riders. What can bike riders do to ensure safe and fair election?  Only the police, Comelec, and the prosecutors can.

I suggest that we should have paid attention for safe and accident free riding as the next relevant theme for the ride.   There are numerous altercations and accidents involving motorcycle vs bikers, tricycle vs bikers, and large motor vehicles and bikers.  One or the worst was the death of Eljay Arambulo, a newbie who was struck by a Meralco sub contractor in Mahabang Parang.

In yesterday;s race for MTB sponsored by MTB, despite the numerous PO marshalls and motorcycle cops several disturbing contra riders actuations by mv drivers put many riders at risk.  In intersections, the obstructions were numerous inviting collisions and crashes. In one instance, on the way back to the municipal hall grounds of Binangonan, a tricycle came running at high speed right into the path of bikers (they are supposed to be a the middle lane.   I nearly collided with that tricycle.

Let us campaign for biker friendly MV MC drivers.  As of now. they are not.

They cant think of anything except their bikes and padyak!

I heard them and saw only a few of them while focusing on the task at hand - to finish the 4 loops of the rather challenging Binangonan - Cardona loop. -   Montevideo, Callahan, Diversion, LLDA.   I saw Meong, Jess, Jeff, Vhen, Sec Noe, Armin, Val,  and Master. Sec Noe who texted me na manonood lang, gave me a dousing of water and Cobra drink.  Special thanks to Pres. Luis for informing the other Recyclists about this event and dragging them to the race route.

Thank you.  Your presence gave us more courage and determination to finish the race which was our only goal and to beat other riders.    Well we achieved them (Tito and I).   We completed the four loops, and a good half of the field especially members of the command, did not finish the course. (race)

Tito suggested the following:

1.  That we strengthen our Recyclists;  that we demand certain commitment and loyalty to Recyclist.  NOT EASY COME EASY GO. That we have more meetings and motivation

2.  That we join more races, and that we are properly represented by the group, rather than by individuals (Papa Ric is in many races collecting bounty for being the oldest)

3. That we give full support to the participant, like bike, or MC and other logistic support.  Mambog Biking Club, he said has enviable support for its team mate who joined this race.

We biked to Morong today and we met Tito, Richard, at Maybancal.   I planned to bike alone to Sampaloc to gauge my feel for the Audax   However, Tito convinced me to join the race tomorrow -  4 loops at Cardona diversion and Binangonan, 10 km per loop

And so I registered at the Angono PNP office and I was entertained by PO1 Pascual and asked me if I am related to former VM and the konsehala now.

It is going to be 4 am assembly  and registration at SM Taytay tomorrow, and race starts at 6 am.   P350 daw ang registration.  PO1 Pascual is inviting more entries. 7 from their office including the Chief of the Station will join.  Marami kayang sumali?

When I arrived early at Pisong Kape there was a large number of vehicles marked PNP.  There were numerous mt bikes parked.  I inquired from the bystanders there and learned that these were PNP officers from Camp Bagong Diwa.  We are happy that these officers do not only "serve and protect the lives of  civilians"  but serve to lead the example to  have healthy and long life...

Keep up the great work sirs.

While there were pledges of aid came fromAustralia, UK, and NZ , it is feared that death tolll could reach as high as 10,000 according to PNP Regional Director Elmerdo Soria.  Most of the deaths appear to have been caused by surging sea water strewn by debris and destroyed buildings.  His estimate is for the island of Leyte alone.  City Administrator Tecson Lim that this figure could be in Tacloban alone.  Tacloban is the biggest city in Leyte with a population of 200,000.

The 10,000 estimate is a huge jump from the 1,200 initially announced by PNRC Gwendolyn Pang
 Saturday.  The PHL national govt has not confirmed the figures.  NBC news was unable to independently confirm the numbers because of lack of  communications.

Should this be correct, the death toll could be as high as that of tsunami in Japan.

The storm surges could be as destructive as tsunami, as reported on the ground by the residents.  A resident who took a refuge under a parked jeep said a wall of water as HIGH AS A COCONUT TREE (about 40 ft) swept the jeep.  The wall of water had trees, logs, houses and debris.

As for the aid, NZ gave  $166,000 through the Red Cross, and Australia will give through the Red Cross family kits consisting of blankets, mosquito nets through PNRC in the amount of $366,000 (from Rappler)

Recyclists often invited by PNP - Padyak ng Padyak

I understand that the Recyclists were invited again by the PNP last Saturday October 19, 2013 for a bike for a cause - this time for peaceful Barangay Election.  The last time, this was for the May 16, 2013 election.  Again, this time, I was unable to join this because I had work.

With this development, it is time we call the officers at PNP as Padyak ng Padyak.  It is better name by other  meaning of PNP
