Practiced again at DOMSA.  This time the ride up was uninterrupted indicating my growing strength and endurance.   Saw again Pres Ruben, Rommel and some new faces;   two Villamayor cousins:   one sone of Sancho (brod of Inta) and son of Felix.  They were discussing a 30 hectare property in Jala2.    Is this a business opportunity.  I called up Inta, a former staffer and manager.  

Had a conversation too with former staff of Mercury.   

I hope this can be a good business deal

While waiting for a biking companion to have the bike repaired somewhere in Antipolo, a number of young riders clustered around my newly acquired carbon fiber bike acquired during the birthday of an e commerce platform.  This post got this unit really cheap, albeit with the unit being wrong.  I ordered 27.5, I got a 29;   I ordered yellow I got black.  I ordered Shimano GS, I got Retrospec.

Rather than  engaging in negativity and returning the bike, this post elected to stay put, swallow my pride  Anyway it us cheap (it costs about P45K;  it has remote lock and the Retrospect WS works fine.  The crank employs hollow tech.  However, the bike characteristically Chinese, was a heavy unit despite the brochure claim of 11.7 kg weight.   Defintely my Mosso bike with XT groupset was a lot lighter.  I would guess its weight to be around 13 kg.

The young guys 1,  wanted to touch the bike   2.  experience the bike 3 and buy the bike and joked about selling his kidney  

One of the Recyclists who saw this wanted to buy a Twitter CF too.  

It is available at VMP.  Available models are Storm, Mantis.  One display unit has a SRAM SX loaded into it.  Its discounted price is about P45K

I learned yesterday that a popular bike brand from China which arrived  last Saturday at Villamayor was reportedly being sold at P20k please.

I went to their main office today. it was sold out.    The regular price is about P32K, they sold it only for P23K.

I was supposed to be simple uenventful ride a recovery one, a light ride to Baras, could have been back by 10 am.  But I arrived at 11:30 because I did a triathlon.  On the way back from Morong, going via the diversion road, my newly installed chain  snapped.  I had to look for somebody with pliers to get back the chain together.  I found one at a vulcanizing shop before Callahan. I managed to get the chain back.  My plan was to walk up the hill, and then coast down, put the gear in low low ratio so as not to force the weak chain connection.  So I did that in Callahan, Look, and LLDA.  It was fine going until Darangan when I had it fixed by a bike shop.  I shifted up before Pantok and the chain was left on the road.  Fortunately, I found it.  I had to walk till Bilibriran.  From Bilibiran till Pag asa, the Villamayor Bike Parts, The installation was made in Angono and Vito said the there was poor fit of the pin. I had to shove my legs on the road (a la trolley scooter) to speed up the face and lessen damage to the biking shoes.

So next time, always bring a chain tool, even if you have a brand new chain.


It was triathlon because there was biking event, walking, and then dousing oneself with plenty of water. (swimming)

As a usual bargain hunter,  bought on CC two CST (made in China tires) that cost only P480.00 each.- total P960.  Quite a bargain compared to the 1t to the 2t tires we usually buy lately. But lo and behold, I could not not install it at my aero rim.   I make deep scratches on the rim because I had to use a metal screwdriver to force the issue.

So after puncturing two tube interiors, I had to swallow my pride and correct my decision, I returned the two CST tires and had them swapped for a Maxxis detonator.  I had to add P75.00 pa to complete the transaction.

But I had the Maxxis installed in a breeze.  It took me under 5 minutes to install
